Little Burrito Cloth Diapers, cost-effective and cute cloth diapering solutions.
Our story began long before cloth diapers. We were a happily married couple, trying to start our family. After a year, without any luck, we sought the help of doctors and specialists. We spent a lot of time a money trying to find a way to make our dream come true. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome was the problem, and we couldn’t seem to find a way to combat it.
We know that others struggle for much longer, but after 3 years of trying, we were growing tired of the heartache of not being able to conceive, so we began looking into other ways to make a family. We thought adoption would be best, but as we researched further, it seemed like it wouldn’t be a good option for us, at least not right away. Adoption can cost upwards of $40,000 and we had already spent a lot of money on trying to conceive.
As we were coming to grips with the fact that we weren’t going to be able to afford adoption, a friend told us of a study that was about to be done here in our hometown in Utah. Her friend, who was a Reproductive Endocrinologist, was looking to do a study on 12 couples who were struggling with infertility and were also considered overweight.
We contacted the doctor, and we were able to qualify for the study! We were excited, but very nervous. Being a part of the study meant that we had to go to weight loss meetings once a week, eat only program food (shakes and boxed meals), and attend bi-weekly couple’s therapy. None of this sounded particularly appealing, but we were ready to try anything!
In 6 months we lost a combined total of 180 lbs.! We left our couch potato lifestyle behind and spent most weekends hiking the beautiful mountains of Utah Valley. The study came to an end and although we were much healthier, we were still not pregnant.
We moved forward with hope and optimism. We traveled. We spent time with family. We prayed. A lot.
Several months passed, and somehow, a miracle happened. Between God’s timing and the right medications, we were finally pregnant! We couldn’t believe it. We lived in a state of shock and awe for quite a few weeks before it all settled in. We. Were. Pregnant!
After spending a pretty penny on getting to that point, we began saving for all of the necessary costs that come from having a baby. The more we looked into things, we decided that cloth diapers would be the best financial option for our Little Burrito. We knew that it would mean a little extra work, but we decided to give it a try.
We were a little nervous to use them at first. But, we quickly learned that they were SO EASY to use! No rushing to the store because we ran out of disposables. No wondering, “how will we pay for diapers this month?” We loved them, and more importantly, our baby loved them! Because we love them so much, we wanted to share with all of you.
We found that our Little Burrito always needs the extra absorbency of 2 inserts. That is why all of our diapers come with an extra insert. We want to make cloth diapering easy, fun, and inexpensive for you and your own Little Burrito!
We're glad you're here!
