WHAT IS MONTESSORI?
Montessori is an innovative, child-centered approach to education. The goal of Montessori education is to foster a child’s natural inclination to learn. Montessori teachers guide rather than instruct, linking each student with activities that meet his interests, needs, and developmental level. The classroom is designed to allow movement and collaboration, as well as promote concentration and a sense of order.

Given the freedom and support to question, to probe deeply, and to make connections, Montessori students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners. They are able to think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly—a skill set for the 21st century.
Montessori provides an individualized education for every child in a relaxed, fun environment. Little Oak is the only Montessori school in the Columbia River Gorge and it has been providing an exceptional primary and elementary education to Gorge residents since 2004.
TUITION ASSISTANCE: LOMS uses a third party, Private School Aid Service (PSAS), to process tuition assistance applications. Each year some tuition assistance is available for students in grades k-6.Applications are available on our website under the "admissions" tab. Applications are due by June 1st annually and families will be notified of tuition awards by June 30th.
