We found out years later after purchasing our doodle here that he was most likely purchased via the "Indiana puppy pipeline", look it up. I punched in the name of the breeder on Google and zoomed into his farm via satellite and then read a bunch on it. I knew the guys name was very biblical and most of them are Amish breeders funneling the puppies to pet shops. That being said, these puppies are still being bred whether you accept it or agree with it or not. Our doodle is fantastic with our kids, quiet, and all around a very sweet boy. The cashier who checked us out was helpful and we have since then moved as we are military. All of our vets comment on how healthy he is. We get so many compliments at dog parks and everywhere we go. We also have a rescue who is a very good boy but not nearly as healthy as the doodle and we adopted him as a puppy. For all those naysayers who say these dogs are sick and get a rescue, we have both and the one we got from here is much happier and healthier and we got them both at 10 weeks old! Genetics can be good or bad in either. I discourage the fact that they get them from the Amish farming Industry, but I am very happy with our dog.
Super kind worker, I only saw the one but she was helpful and although we were mostly just looking, not planning to buy, she seemed happy that we were there to keep the dogs entertained. the puppies were fantastic and it really made my day to play with them all. if you want a dog and have the money for it, I'd suggest this place!
Although it’s not the most up to date store, the workers were very nice. We weren’t expecting to buy a puppy, but absolutely fell in love with this little guy. He came with a health guarantee and his first vet checkup went great. A happy, healthy well adjusted puppy has been a great addition to our family. There are certain expectations and assumptions when purchasing a pet from a pet store. These dogs didn’t ask to be bred and sold like this, but at the end of the day, they just need a loving home. Fair price, smooth experience, ignore the brigading one star reviewers... thanks LSofP!
I bought my German Shepherd from here almost 6 months ago and I go into this place pretty much weekly to see the pups. It is always clean and the staff is super knowledgeable about dogs. They have puppies on the floor for sale that they buy from breeders all over, it's a great place to have an outlet for these dogs that are already being bred to find forever homes. It's an unfortunate fact that some animals can get sick, so help stop the spread by cleaning your hands BEFORE touching any of them, and BEFORE touching a different one. My shepherd is a great dog, she has had no issues, I am looking forward to buying another dog from here.
I have known the owners for many years, and even bought my best buddy Manfred there. Their dogs are CAREFULLY selected from quality breeders. I will go nowhere else. Petco and PetSmart don't go to the levels these folks go for their customers.
For those giving this a one star rating... You probably didn't even have an experience here. I find the prices better here than any other puppy store in the area. Kennels were clean...not one poop in the three times I was there. And FYI for the kennel cough reviews...any time puppies are transported together they can get a cough. My doxie I ADOPTED on petfinder had it. I lost her after 11 years and went to this shop to look. I ended up with a beautiful puppy that came home a week later because the owner wanted to make sure he saw the vet and he was healthy. She cared only for what was best for the puppy. Yes he was shy....for about a half hour and now a week later he is a normal playful loving puppy that has brought nothing but joy to us. We tried looking to adopt again. But you can not adopt right now due to overwhelming applications. My family needed a pup to help heal the loss of our dog and these people were nothing but kind and helpful.
I am so tired of people posting negative reviews when in truth they are against purchasing a puppy. All Dogs deserve a home! I bought a dog two years ago. Prior to that I visited the pet store almost every day during my lunch. I took pictures and no one stopped me from doing so. Their pens were clean and everyone there was kind and helpful. They care about their pups and won’t allow random people to pick them up. I recommend that you go there and see for yourself.
All of these reviews that are anti puppy mill are ridiculous. This place is on my way home from work, and my two year old daughter LOVES coming to see the puppies. We started using it as a reward for potty training and good listening. The staff is always extremely friendly when we come in. The puppies always have water and are clean whenever we are there which is literally like every other day at this point. The puppies are all playful, happy and adorable. My daughter loves dancing with the birds and laughing at the hamsters. We actually bought a beta fish from them the first time we ever went in, and our little Donut is going on a year already, which is crazy considering a 2 year old is his primary caregiver. I’ve had questions about his care, swim bladder and they were able to point me in the right direction. Overall I just can’t say enough about how great these guys are. We have a deal with my daughter that once she’s fully potty trained we get to take a puppy home. We’ll definitely be going here for him/her.
We purchased a dog from this pet store in 2003, in 2017 we had to say goodbye to her at the age of 15. She was an amazing dog and had no health issues. We had no intention of getting a dog when we went in, but we have no regrets on our decision. Every dog deserves a chance no matter where they come from. Shelters import puppies all the time from other counties and charge for them... it’s no different, only difference is it’s called an “adoption fee” and that makes people feel better about themselves. If you don’t like pet stores, don’t go in them.
My boyfriend and I pulled in about a week ago to check out some fish and in the parking lot there was a massive tractor trailer truck full of puppies, presumably from a puppy mill. Inside they had three puppies, birds, and a wall of fish. The puppies were very bony and living in wooden boxes on the floor. Do the world a favor and find a rescue or a reputable breeder instead... Four years later I just came back to check the reviews. Someone else had mentioned adopting isn’t any better? Don’t listen to such ignorance. If this place can still make money selling puppies from puppy mills then I’m completely disgusted. The mothers of puppies at puppy mills spend a miserable existence pumping out puppy after puppy in a small cage just to be put down at the end of it all. Don’t support puppy mills by purchasing from piece of trash pet stores such as this one.
