Camped over memorial weekend at the tent site #13. Absolutely wonderful, mostly shaded and quiet. Close to the bathhouse if needed. Family members stayed in the equine area and the RV area and both were wonderful. Trails are nice, splash pad was a hit and the playground. Playground: Small but good area on play sand. Kids loved it ! Restrooms: Clean and efficient Dog-friendliness: Please keep your dog leashed!
This park is awesome lots of great trails for easy hiking.we went in very early April, and the mosquitoes were already an issue near the river, so I would be prepared with some form of repellent. Our family would love try camping here! Dog-friendliness: Just make sure you furry friend is on their leash!
Fun little park, close to home. The paved walking loop is beautiful. Lots of mosquitos but If you live in Georgia you know it’s the nature of the beast.. you can venture off and take a big foot trail or walk the unpaved back loop around the big lake, Behind the tent campsites. Bring a swimsuit for the kids there is a well maintained splash pad, park, restrooms, and picnic tables. Make sure you pay the 5$ to park or even better buy a year long pass for 40$ at the office.
This place is great! We camped one night with our 30 foot trailer and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Full hookups, spacious, level sites. There’s a nice little playground and splash pad right next to the campground. Everything was well kept & maintained. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, definitely recommend!
We prefer the splash pad here over the one at Gold Dust park. It's nice to be able to go in, with our snacks, and without worrying about "session times." It isn't fenced in so older kids can go from splash pad to park and swings. Gold Dust splash pad is fenced in which was great for toddler ages.
Lovely park with nice large sites and paved walking trails. Giving only a three star because of trash. The dumpster is way at the front of the park and the trash cans in the RV section were overflowing when we got there on a Sunday and still on Tuesday morning. Also, there is no bath house in the RV section which is nice to have for smaller trailers. The hosts didn't seem too interested in helping or cleaning sites. When I asked if they would take a small bag of trash since they were in a golf cart, their reply was a very smug "I suppose we could!!" I picked up a bag full of trash on our site upon arrival and we never saw anyone check the sites next to us when they vacated. Being hosts ourselves, I must say this was a bit disappointing.
Daughter had her wedding there was a awesome place to have a wedding The campsite host checked on us made sure everything was okay only thing they asked was we made sure the lights were turned off at the end of the evening outside we had a fantastic time camping and thoroughly enjoyed the location.
Little Tallapoosa park is a very nice and clean park to visit. The lady working at the visitors center is nice and polite too. She can help with any questions you may have in regards to your stay. There is RV and camping areas, a lake and even pavilions for family reunions or family outings, as well as a small playground. My wife and I really enjoyed our time there and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a nice peaceful day.
AMAZING PLACE TO CAMP! Whether you're in a tent, fifth wheel, camper or RV. There is also an equestrian side I haven't venture into. The are a lot of paved trails, 2 ponds and the Tallapoosa River is on the back side of the Park. There is a cool splash pad for the kids. Dogs are welcome. There are water and sewer hook ups at each RV/CAMPER sites. And there is a bath house available Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Great place for RV campers. We had a nice full hook up site that was fairly level. The campground was well kept and quiet. There are lots of trails for hikers or bicycles. They have a small water park area for the kids and although we did not use the bath house, I checked it out and it was very nice and clean. They have laundry facilities as well. Update July 2020 - they now use the old "horse" sites for overflow when the regular campground is full. We had site #10 in that area. We don't prefer it at all. The grass was really long, and the site was not near level. The road noise from the nearby highway was very loud. Additionally, there are trees on the awning side that could interfere with using it. The picnic table/firepit area was not very user friendly. Going back tomorrow but not to the overflow area.
