"To Inspire, educate, and excite the minds of our community."
The Little Wood River Library is a district library that serves the Carey and Picabo valley. The library was organized 1975 and opened its doors in June of 1976. It was organized to provide an opportunity to have access to a library within the community.
The library is still in the original building, approximately 1000 square feet. In 2015 we were gifted the opportunity to purchase the old school library and with the help from the Wood River Women's Foundation grant we have started to make that dream a reality.
Our long term goal is to create a warm, welcoming space that adults and children will want to spend time in, while fostering a love of reading. We will be recycling and renewing our current building for a space for our community to use from a space to tie quilts, teach yoga classes, or book clubs. Much of this work cannot be done without financial & volunteer support from our community, as you can see we have had accomplished so much but still have so far to go.
