If you have more than one pet, it gets expensive to use this Vet. They don't do some surgeries either. Had to take my pup to Monterey/Seaside for emergency kidney stone removal so not ideal. But the techs are great and really friendly. Doctors are generally kind and helpful though dont let your dog gain weight as they have been really hard on me about it eventhough my dog is super lazy.
Tried to call and it took a bit to get through because the phone line was busy. Finally got through only to learn they aren't taking new clients. This is frustrating and should be on their website.
The best Vet in South County. Takes good care of our Ginger.
New to the area and brought both of our Senior dogs here. Dr. Mike Switzer is amazing! He is kind, caring, educates the owners, only does what is necessary, and the poor guy gets down on the floor to interact with my dogs! Our border collie, Maizey, had to have an infected tooth extracted. He called me personally twice during the day to give me updates. Honestly, probably the best vet we have ever had in 30 years of being dog owners.
My wife and I want to express how happy and grateful we are to Dr. Jeanne Haggerty-Arcay and the Live Oak staff for all their great work throughout the years. Jeanne has cared for our two English Labs for well over the past 10 years. Our experience has been nothing less than exceptional. Dr. Haggerty-Arcay is very compassionate, knowledgeable and skilled. She and the staff have been wonderful and professional to our human and canine family. When Jeanne has been on vacation I have also had the pleasure to work with Dr. Muth and Dr. Clark too. Both of which have been pretty damn awesome. I strongly recommend Live Oak Vet.
I have been coming to this vet office for years and they have always been so kind, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Recently over a week ago I tested positive for COVID and my senior Guinea pig Reese came down with a cold and stopped eating. They were so kind to look at videos of Reese, do a phone consultation and prescribe medication to try to get him through. Dr. Jeanne Haggerty-Arcay even spent some extra time with me on the phone explaining critical care to me and that I could find it on Amazon and describing syringe feeding. Sadly Reese passed today, but I will never forget the kindness shown when I myself was very sick and pretty hopeless about getting care for my baby. They went above and beyond and even though he didn’t make it I have faith the knowledge and meds given in his time of need lessened his suffering. I will definitely continue to bring all my pets.
Nice staff. Always very friendly and helpful.
As always, wonderful! We drive from Hayward to come here. Our old vet was inept at best when treating out bulldog. Not the case at Live Oak. The Vet is awesome. She knows her Bulldogs well. I could not be happier with Live Oak Veterinary Hospital. The staff is super wonderful too!!
