LHSP is a living-learning program focused on writing and the arts.
The Lloyd Hall Scholars Program is a University of Michigan Learning Community for students interested in writing and the arts, whatever their skill level or field of study. LHSP students live together, take classes together, and extend their learning outside of the classroom via clubs, visiting writers and artists, workshops, and events. Small classes and a strong student leader program help each student to feel like part of a community, and it’s common to hear our students talk about LHSP as their “home” on campus. We are committed to embracing a diverse population of students from all backgrounds, and to helping students to develop personally, socially, and intellectually. Whether they seek leadership opportunities, want to share their studies with other individuals who value writing and the arts, or hope to maintain a connection to their creative pursuits, LHSP students share a community where they are known, and from which they can explore all the University of Michigan has to offer.
