Locust Field- Holland- Pharr, cemetery sits quietly on a plot of rolling hills just a short stroll from downtown Canton. Land Donated by: Ambrose Pharr as Old Locust Field Church grew. After his death, lower portion of "new" Locust Field was divided by court among heirs as Ambrose Pharr died intestate (without a will).
Old Locust Field Cemetery located behind Library. this page is for the newer Lower Locust Field Cemetery that is the final resting place for members of the Holland, Pharr, Johnson, and Smathers Families. Land for Locust Field- Holland, Pharr, Cemetery area was private property of Ambrose Pharr and is of record at Haywood County Courthouse. Upon his death, it was split between his heirs and has been used as a private area for family burial of each descendent of Ambrose Pharr.
