Beautiful view, cool playground and soccer field. It's full of kids during the summer months, can't let me dogs off the leash but there's trails that go around the recreation center and library that are nice. Only two trash cans for this huge park. Play ground available. Nice view of the city.
Nice park. Part of it was closed due to them getting the grass growing again. Nice play area for the kids. No athrooms available however.
This was the most amazing up front experience I've ever had on the 4th of July! Love the live band & the food trucks! Just am awesome atmosphere to be in with the family!
The park is simply amazing.. I take my 6 year old there regularly for his baseball games.. It can host a ton of games and large crowds. It's very nicely maintained too.. very clean. Always get a refreshing feeling when I go there.
Please note that dogs are not allowed at this park. There are a couple of signs that say this and mention a fine. So with much trepidation I let my dog run on the grass for a few minutes before leaving to go find a dog friendly park. But if you are looking for a large, open, grassy place to toss a frisbee or kick around a ball, this park is good for that.
Park was kinda dirty. Still had fun with the soccer game that I came for. If they cleaned it up more often like removing trash from other people way before the game I think it would be used a lot more.
I was a bit disappointed, for the size of neighborhood, I would have expected a playground designed for children ages 2 - 12, but this playground was designed for children 5 - 12. At the Vista Hills park my child 22mo is able to enjoy much of the playground, both the 2-5 area and the 5 - 12 although there are many aspects that are too advanced to experience as an older child would. At Loma Colorado playground, it is very small so the opportunities for a child to explore and play are limited, even on the standard of older children. Moreover, the structure was covered in bird feces; I have not observed this problem at other playgrounds, so perhaps it has something to do with the sunshade stretching over the structure. Regardless, I would expect that Park Maintenance to be keeping an eye on the playground for such problems for health safety in addition to monitoring for physically unsafe conditions.
Loma Colorado Park is nestled between the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center and the Rio Rancho High School Solar Panel Array. It's an easily overlooked park because of its setback off the road and the entrance. It's a quiet place to read a book under the gazebo or stroll around with the kids.
This is a nice park, convenient as it is close to where we live. My kids enjoy visiting the park regularly. Good shady to block the sun if needed, and fun things for all ages. Big grass field close by for soccer or frisbee.
Nice park, very clean. Love taking the family for picnics, and fun.
