Lone Cedar Farms

I used to love this plant nursery when I lived in Hyattsville several years ago, but it has really gone downhill. When I stopped there this weekend there were barely any plants, just a few annual flowers and some sick looking veggies. And the prices were quite high, especially given how sick many of the plants looked. I’m not sure what happened with the management, but I would not recommend this place anymore.

Convenient location for your firewood needs. I pulled right up and was able to load my purchase within minutes. Will definitely be back for firewood.

What a great and easy experience today picking up my 1/4 cord of firewood at Lone Cedar Farm. You just pull up, pick a bin, pay, load up, and you’re back on the road. The price is very reasonable at $75 for a 1/4 cord. The fellas there were helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back for all my firewood needs every season.

Love this place. Its a step back in time to how we used to buy plants. Better prices than HD and you can pull right up to load your car. Plus excellent corn and tomatoes when in season. Great price on annuals. These places won't be around in the next generation so happy to support them now.

Firewood was not well seasoned, does not burn well. I jumped at buying firewood at this price $75 for a quarter cord but was disappointed to find that the wood smokes heavily and does not burn well. Hopefully it will be ready to burn by next season, but definitely not ready for use.

We have been loyal customers for 4 years now. We burn 4 to 5 cords a year. Excellent service. Best quality. Would not think of going elsewhere. Just had our first 2 cords for 2022 delivered today.

Good price if you have a place to let this season for another year. Pretty unusable in it's sold-as state unless you want to use a starter log to get it going. A combo of over-estimated seasoning time and that it's sitting out in the open mean it's still holding onto a lot of moisture.

These folks are great. David and his sons arrived with a cord of excellent, cured wood 4 hours after I called and ordered it. Stacked it neatly for me in the back of the house. Burns beautifully. Very reasonable price.

I just got a delivery of a full 1/2 cord of split firewood from Lone Cedar Farm yesterday, and I am very satisfied. I called 3 other companies but they were either super expensive or when I probed into the details, they were actually only offering only a "face" 1/2 cord meaning 4 ft long by 4 ft high by 16 inches wide - whereas a full 1/2 cord is the full 4 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft. The difference between a face and full cord is substantial. The guys at Lone Cedar Farm delivered a full 1/2 cord of very high quality hardwood. The pieces were long 16-18 inches. Don't get duped by other companies. I highly recommend this farm.

Shame on me for trying for months to support this local business. Tried calling to order wood starting in October 2020 and after getting messages that their voicemail was full for a couple weeks, I drove over to speak with them about ordering a cord of wood. Now it's January 2021 and no one has responded to the note I left when I visited, nor has anyone responded to any of the subsequent messages I've left on their VM in December and January.
