The Long Island Flyrodders
The Long Island Flyrodders (LIFR) is a club dedicated to the sport of fly fishing. LIFR was born in 1981 and organized as a structured club in 1985 by a handful of
dedicated fly fishermen from Long Island and Queens. The Flyrodder, the official monthly newsletter of the club was also launched in 1985
Today, the club consists of more than 200 members and is the leading fly fishing club in the East. Membership is open to anyone regardless of sex, age, race, religion, handicap, place of residence, level of expertise or social status.
The Long Island Flyrodders meet at 8:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each Month, at the Levittown VFW Hall, 55 Hickory Lane, Levitown, NY. (North
of Hempstead Turnpike & West of Jerusalem Avenue)
