Beautiful local diner with fantastic food. Stopped by hear after a weekend of camping in -20° weather so a warm meal was most welcomed. Staff was friendly, unlimited coffee, affordable prices, and most of all delicious food. I'll make a note to stop here for a bite the next time I'm up in the high peaks/long lake region.
After three days in the back woods all I wanted in life other than a flush toilet was PANCAKES! The food was excellent, the service was great and the location has an amazing view. Highly recommend for anyone in the area!
We were late in to town in the middle of winter and this appeared to be the only place open. Parking is mostly across the street. The food was very good and the atmosphere was lively! Service was not the best... Maybe because we were out of Towner's? That's our only complaint. I had chicken Parm and it was nice and crispy, the red sauce was quite good. My GF had pulled pork Mac and cheese and it was great!
Wholesome American fare in a homely environment, with friendly staff and local patrons. There are a bulletin board with local notices, an automatic teller machine and a gumballer. The bathrooms are narrow and include chalkboards in case patrons want to doodle. There is a backroom for larger groups upwards of ten. There are about six beers on draft. Parking in the lots next to the restaurant or directly across the roadway. In 2019 Larry Sharpe stopped here on another statewide tour after his historic run for New York Governor.
We had lunch here on a particularly trying day for the staff. The power went off! We still had a very nice meal. Prices seemed a bit high at first glance...but my chef salad had real roast turkey, a couple of kinds of cheese, beautifully ripe tomatoes and an unusually good thousand island dressing. My wife's chicken Caesar salad had awesome croutons and tender, juicy chicken. You get a good value. The staff seemed a bit harried, understandably, but were still attentive and helpful. We've been coming here for years. We'll definitely be back.
Food was basic and flavorless and took an excessive amount of time, staff argued amongst themselves the whole time we were there. Looks very nice inside and has a beautiful view. To bad the service and staff weren't better.
The food here was amazing, the space was clean and welcoming, and the service was great. But most impressive was the way that the owner and staff put a group effort into helping me and my fiancee when we locked our keys in our car. They offered to help, checked on us while we tried to get into the car, let us stay inside the diner once it started to rain, and even hunted down the local man - thank you Jimmy! - who quickly got our door unlocked. Thank you, Long Lake Diner staff for being so amazing!
Stopped for the first time on our way to Lake George. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We opted to sit outside on the deck which was very nice. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. Come to find out she was a former employee who had come in for dinner, saw that they were busy and jumped in to help. Her husband was even bussing tables. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was absolutely delicious. We had the broiled haddock, spaghetti/meatballs, and a hot turkey, all very very good. Kudos to the chef, and kudos to the former waitress. We will definitely be back.
In the small town of long lake Ny we were happy to find a wonderful breakfast and a cold beer for lunch all under one roof. Bird watching from the patio was nice.
This may be the only open restaurant in the area which might explain the full dining area. French fries were chewy, not crisp and no special seasoning, very disappointed as they were advertised as handcut, making you think they are special. Corned beef sandwich had great flavor and was moist, but while eating some parts of the sandwich was warm, others cool. Philly sandwich was good but could not get a flavor from bell peppers. Service was fine, friendly server. Bathroom is small and well worn.
