Absolute gorgeous wedding venue! I've shot weddings and corporate events here a bunch of times, every time it's incredibly gorgeous! Flexible, industrial, lots of options inside and out, and looks good in the rain!
An incredible venue for weddings and events. The textures alone and different large spaces are breath taking. The layout for last nights Washingtonian event allowed for a great flow of 350+ people. Wine tasting and cotton candy! A lovely evening, fun had by all. Highly recommend paying for parking two doors down ahead of time. Worth reserving
My first visit there in a while. It's very near the Convention Center. Lots of good restaurants and a Giant nearby. Michael Crossett is a wonderful DC painter.
Very friendly staff! The food served during the reception were pieces of art by themselves. The way it was presented but also served with a smile was in line with high expectations for this gallery!
Attended the DC wine fest there last weekend. Very nice venue and art gallery. The wine fest was great as well!
We had a political event here and it was the nicest venue. Spacious, with lovely exposed brick. Perhaps for the size of crowd we had it could have used more restrooms but that is hardly the fault of the venue. In general I would recommend the Long view gallery as a very classy event space.
I attended a large event at the Long View Gallery this past week. While this might be a suitable space for smaller events, it was absolutely awful, wrong choice for a large event especially one lasting the whole afternoon. To start with the space simply wasn't enough. People were packed together like sardines, which is unpleasant enough in normal circumstances and foolishly risky during a pandemic situation. Not to mention that dozens of people didn't even have seats and were left standing up for several hours. The seats that were available were very uncomfortable, metal folding chairs. Second major problem was the heat and poor ventilation, it felt like more than 100 degrees inside. I ended up drenched with sweat despite wearing only a short-sleeved, cotton shirt and lightweight trousers. Around 4:00 PM - feeling quite dehydrated - I tried to get a bottle of water, but the service staff had already cleared away the event's water and coffee service in order to prepare for the evening cocktail hour starting later. Speaking of evening cocktail hour, during that portion of the event only two single-stall bathrooms were available for a large crowd most of whom were drinking. Naturally that caused a huge line to use the facilities. Finally, during networking break times and cocktail hour in the rear gallery area, it was nearly impossible to hear people talking due to such a large, dense crowd talking at once, with sound reverberating off the concrete floor and ceiling. Pretty much defeated the purpose of the event since conversation was not possible. Organizers of large events should steer well clear of Long View Gallery.
Long View is a very well-regarded gallery in the DC area featuring excellent monthly exhibitions of a variety of artists. I've long enjoyed the exhibit opening receptions - can't beat the complimentary wine! - and also recently attended several external events hosted in the space. I love the exposed brick and duct work; it feels edgy and urban but sophisticated. As an event center, the Gallery could be greatly improved by a few more bathrooms....but I'm overall very impressed with Long View's management of every event I've attended. The space needs little enhancement, the staff are friendly, the art is clearly of high caliber - it's a great space!
We saw one of the exhibitions such a great place. Worth stopping by to explore the work of rising artists
I attended an event here a few weeks ago and the Gallery was a great place for it. They have two main areas, once being the show room type area and another area up a short ramp towards the back that is nice for a VIP type area. It is easily accessible from the metro and fairly easy to spot on the street, thanks to the large windows in front.
