I cannot brag enough about how good our experience was with labor and delivery and then on the maternity side too. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE we encountered was so fantastic they treated me with such respect and compassion at a level I've never witnessed as a patient or even working in health care. The treatment was so thoughtful and patient focused I felt like my care plan was truly FOR ME and not just checking the boxes. I felt heard. I felt safe. That whole unit is angels. On top of everything the hospital is absolutely gorgeous, and well kept. Thankful everyday for what a gift that experience was with them and would recommend this hospital to all expecting mothers in the area.
While in the ER, I found staff to be kind, but like any ER, the doctors were pretty dismissive of the fact that I was very not okay with the health symptoms I was experiencing and wanted to send me home because I was, well, breathing and conscious. After some advocating, they did end up hospitalizing me and once that happened I received excellent treatment. Doctors were kind and knowledgeable. Nurses and CNAs were incredibly helpful and caring. I discharged after a few days in better health and with a solid game-plan to move forward.
Went in through the ER at midnight because my wife went into labor and we were immediately checked into the maternity ward. It was a three day ordeal, but everyone was fantastic. From all of the nurses to the pediatrician Dr. Jesse Mortimer and our amazing OB Dr. Amy Johnson, everyone did what they could to accommodate and take care of us. I really want to give a shout-out to the nurses, though. All of them helped us out immensely getting our feet on the ground as first time parents with feeding, swaddling, changing diapers, sponge baths, and other things we just didn't know about! They all were truly amazing. p.s. if you're ordering the hospital food, the personal pizza, burger + fries, and pancakes with hash browns are the best dishes to get.
My Mom just completed an outpatient surgery here yesterday. She is elderly and was referred to a Doctor that is affiliated here. She is a retired BSN and has taken care of diabetic patients all her adult life with care and she was very happy with the care she received from her doctor and her nurse Jordan at this hospital! I am grateful for the wonderful treatment she received.
I got billed after visiting a midwife at this location under poudre valley medical group. Which is not covered In my network even though longs peak hospital is. When I called the billing department as well as the front desk had zero sense of human decency or how to speak to people. When you hang up a call in tears over a simple question you know their management and service is bad. I LOVED my doctor and midwife but feeling very uncomfortable going here again after front office staff treatment.
Sitting here in radiology, several traumas and ER visits were put before me. That makes sense and not a problem. I was sent here for internal bleeding and thought it was considered urgent, but again I am okay with waiting for trauma. What I am not okay with is that Meagan at the front desk in radiology is rude and condescending. I am in significant pain and a little scared, the least she could do is be polite. I am very sad that she feels empowered to treat others so poorly. Every phone call that comes in she talks down to the person on the other end. I feel sorry for her and the staff that has to work with her. I will send an update about the remaining of my visit.
I’m grateful for this hospital, its new equipment and all the attentive nurses. Especially grateful for Dr. Carter and for being there for me and using her medical skills for the major moments that I needed them. Everything has been perfect for my needs.
I have been contracting for 2 months and I am in constant pain, your providers refuse to help me. It has been a huge fight to get them to schedule me an induction and even then I keep getting told that there is a good chance they will have to cancel it. I am constantly told that the contractions are normal and talked down to when I try to push back saying this is my second kid... this is not normal. When I went into the hospital yesterday for contractions at 5-1-1. I was told that they had not progressed me enough for anything and was sent home. Your team refused to help me with a membrane sweep or pitocin to help further the process given my immense and constant pain. Instead I was given sleeping pills and told to ignore the pain. I am getting a second opinion as this is not the way to treat patients and I am frankly defeated and worried for my health and the babies at the possibility of delivering with you. How I have been treated is why women have depression issues during and after birth, I have given birth before and loved it. This experience has left me depressed and frankly not allowed me to connect with my baby. Not to mention the bedside manner of all your providers has been terrible the whole time, I kept chalking it up to tired providers, but I am over it. When I interviewed your facility in Feb. I was told that you guys provided options that I have since been denied. Tell the truth about what you provide so we can find other care.
My experience at the ER of this uchealth was horrible, I have come here before and the er nurses always treat my daughter with no respect and no empathy at all, they make rude remarks and comments towards her and our family and have done it multiple times before, the charge nurse is very rude and on multiple occasions has made rude remarks towards my family, I would expect a emergency room/doctors office to at least have there employees trained in respect and kindness, kindness goes a long way and most of the nurses at this facility do not even try to be kind until a Dr. is in the room and even then they make very rude remarks. Don’t come to this uchealth and do not trust there emergency room with treating your loved ones cause they don’t have an actual care for them at all.
On 10/2/19 I had a bad accident while hiking, and all of the staff at Longs Peak were excellent! That was a great ER experience and afterwards I would’ve recommended that hospital to anyone. This time, on 9/1/22, my experience was sadly the exact opposite. I went into anaphylactic shock with every one of those related symptoms, took an antihistamine and came in as soon as I got my vision back loss of vision, as well as difficulty breathing, were only two of the severe symptoms I was experiencing. I arrived after 4:00am, during a non-busy time. I had to wait at least 20 minutes before I even saw a nurse, while having trouble breathing and barely being able to talk because my tongue and lips were so swollen. When a nurse came and got me, the medical staff inside were moving around slowly, laughing and cracking jokes. The nurse was okay but I needed to repeat myself a few times to her because she wasn’t listening very well. I had to wait awhile longer before Dr. Denison came in. When he finally appeared he said casually, “So you think you’re having an allergic reaction?” Dr. Denison seemed unconcerned that I was just coming out of a life-threatening allergic reaction. He didn’t listen very well, and he checked my throat but nothing else. He didn’t give me epinephrine, and he didn’t even give me an Epi-Pen to provide basic protection for the next time I go into anaphylactic shock. It was a disappointing experience and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to see that doctor in an emergency. Like I said, it was the opposite of my experience in 2019. I’m sure the staff are tired and burnt out turn from Covid but otherwise I’m not sure what could’ve happened to change Longs Peak ER so drastically in only a few years. Maybe it was just a bad night for the staff, or maybe he’s just not the right doctor to see in the event of an emergency allergic reaction.
