He finished his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. During his training, he participated with Healing the Children in the countries of Columbia and Ecuador treating children with cleft lips and palates. Dr. Patel was also part of one of the first teams involved in CT guided implant placement at Columbia University. Dr. Patel was born and raised in Philadelphia and went to Boston University for college. Dr. Michael Jungwirth performed oral surgery on me recently. He was professional, attentive, and caring as he explained the entire procedure. I did not feel any pain during the surgery and healed well. He is a gifted surgeon! The staff at the Mount Vernon office is excellent, very friendly and communicative. I highly recommend this oral surgery practice.
I am a VERY anxious dental patient. Dr Patel and his staff were very caring and compassionate. They offered twilight sedation for my tooth extraction. When I came time for the implant, I went with just local anesthesia. The whole procedure was very smooth and quicker than I anticipated. I've had fillings at other places that were worse than the implant! Would recommend them, and will definitely use them for an future needs.

I just had a procedure that lasted few minutes and I didn’t feel anything. It was the best experience I ever had with an oral surgeon Dr. Patel is very pleasant, knowledgeable and he has wonderful skills. The office staff and assistants are very welcoming and charming. I had an amazing experience from start to finish with this office. The staff are all extremely helpful and informative, easing all of my fears and concerns. Both of my appointments went smoother than I had anticipated. I was happy to receive a call from staff and the Doctor afterwards to check in on me! I will definitely be returning here for all of my future oral surgery needs as well as referring all of my friends and family. Truly amazing customer service on all fronts, I would give so much more than 5 stars!
I had my implant done 2 weeks ago and Dr. Patel did an amazing job! The entire team was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond to work with my schedule. Definitely recommend this place for your dental needs.
Had an amazing experience with VOSS for my wisdom tooth extraction . The office staffs were extremely professional and welcoming. The surgery went very smoothly and pain free.
As an adult, I HATE the dentist due to bad experiences from my childhood. But Dr. Patel made my oral surgery comfortable and easy! He assured me that everything was in good hands when I told him my concerns. He even let my husband in the same room during the procedure to help me be more comfortable! Dr. Patel ABSOLUTELY puts his patients first, and the staff working in his office are nothing short of kind and professional. HIGHLY recommend this office!
Had my wisdom teeth taken out and honestly it was the first time that a dental office made the process easy and painless! The staff were extremely friendly, from Cassie, the office manager, to the dental assistant, Ally and especially Dr. Patel. Besides being courteous and professional, they did an excellent job on my dental work.
