This is the second night in a row I have sent my husband there to get me food! The service is on point! And the food is absolutely to die for. I have been living in Illinois for two years and I have yet to find a good Mexican place this is definitely your go to. You would think with it being attached to a gas station it wouldn’t be good but it’s actually AMAZING!!!!!!! I’m pregnant and YUM I got the tacos and burritos and MMMMMMHHMMMM! Yummy!!!!! Green salsa on point. Def recommend this place ! 10/10
I really wanted to love this place. The girl behind the counter asked the cook if they had guacamole. He said yes. They brought us out a little bowl of what looked like guacamole but was mostly raw onions. The onions smelled like they went bad also. I liked the burrito and my daughter liked the quesadilla. It tasted like the quesadilla had chicken from a crockpot. Not my favorite. I’m not a very picky eater. I absolutely love Mexican food and don’t think I have ever given less than a five star rating for a good burrito.
Had the Taco Dinner and the tacos were great. The Dinner came with rice and beans. For the most part, the beans were good but the rice was very bland.Food: 4/5
I order a burrito with steak, that thing had more rice than steak. It was bad. Then I order a corn in a cup. The cup was smaller than what it looked in the picture. I would recommend to keep driving nd look somewhere else
Tried this place out based on the many good reviews. Being a gas station restaurant, I thought it was a hole in the wall gem but it’s really just a hole in the wall. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing?? Not going back though to find out.
Absolutely favorite mexican restaurant, in love with all the food items 1 thing this restaurant definitely showed me that no other has is that they’re customers are definitely top priority, the owner Chayo went beyond my expectations I wanted a food item they did not have in their menu she went out of her way to make it for me, I am completely beyond happy and I will definitely recommend to anyone 10/10 !
I've eaten here three times at time of review, and every single time was fantastic. The steak tacos are juicy and cooked well
Interior was being remodeled when I came in, very small in the inside with numerous slot machines. Family owned business. Menu is pretty large, with lots of different meats. They have cemitas as well which isn't common everywhere. They also have Americanized food as well. Food was alright. Tacos were very large in portion size however I only liked the carne asada. The chorizo and Al pastor did not have a lot of flavor. The al pastor was a very fatty cut of meat and very chewy. Salsas were decent, but very spicy. The prices were a little high for tacos, but made sense after I saw the size of the tacos.
As I'm standing paying for my food a guy in the back is refreshing his hands with water and no soap then he dry them off with his greasy apron then proceeds to rub my food. And that is just a hint of how the owners keep the place with as little cleaning as possible. I wouldn't mind a little bit of extra hands flavor in my food if it wasn't for the extra charging. Is my money not worth a little bit of soap?
I stopped going here months ago for the tiny portion sizes they give. I was going all over Illinois for Mexican restaurants except here but today I didn't feel like driving. I was in complete shock! It was actually good portion sizes on all the meals! The beans and rice was actually filled to top as they should be and it was actually MEAT on the sandwiches. I don't know if it's just a good day today or what but I'm impressed and shocked. I've order here many times disappointed with portion and price ill try back in a xouple weeks and see what happens if they keep this up ill be a returning customer again if not back to driving anywhere but here
