This is a small RV park of 16 sites right off the Rio Gate at Hunter Army Airfield. It's right next to the Savannah Mall, so there is plenty of road noise. The road into the campground is easy to miss. It's literally 100' past the gate on the left. The CG road is dirt and potholed. The sites are grass/dirt although there is a paved pavilion. There is no restroom or bath house. It's currently $25/night.
Really nice place to stay with easy access to Savannah. Lacks decent WiFi and there is no bathhouse or laundry, but it is full hookup. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Restrooms: There are NO restrooms.
Actually a very nice place when it hasn't rained in several days. Large spacious lots with of large trees shade. But when it does rain about 1/2 the time you will be slogging around in mud and water that is shoe top deep for days!
We did a trip down to Florida and got a site at Lotts on the way back to NC. Camp ground is really close to I 95. We did a one night hit and run. Most sites are pull through so didn't have to unhook toad. Full hookups, 20 dollars a night with American the beautiful pass. FIRE pit!! On base so super safe. It is small campground. Has ramp and docks down the road. Really enjoyed!
Although it is small 15spaces, it is quite cozy. Plenty of room at each site for sure. The camp host was also very nice. While there were not bathrooms and showers, the water and electric hookups worked flawlessly. It felt very private and secure. A full thumbs up
Beautiful setting, lots of trees. Full hookups, but no facilities. On military base. VERY muddy when it rains. Comes with a picnic table on a cement pad, grill and fire ring. You must pay in advance since no camp host a lot of the time. Recycle and garbage bins.
This is a no frills spot. Very soft sand and there will be standing water. The location is great for visiting the historic sites, but we did not sit outside at camp. It is quiet though.
This campground is ideal location to visit the Savannah sceneries & eateries. Nathan, the campground host was very pleasant, conversant, and most helpful. The MWR could be more supportive of the camp host by keeping the place spruce up, posting speed limits to 5 mph like most of the RV parks everywhere as there are families with children playing, numbering the spaces. The tall beautiful trees and natural green surroundings has to be maintained properly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will continue to use this facility as one of our RV base.
This is one of the least upkept RV parks I have been in on any base. There is no bathhouse. No laundry. No Internet. The sites are placed in a way that you have to wonder what the Engineers were thinking. My Maine question is besides greeting new comers what are the duties of the Host?
If you just want to stop for a night. I don't know how many people asked us where a camp host was or how to call. Rules should be forced about dogs not roaming freely.
