Sometimes the hole in the wall restaurants pleasantly surprise you! I had the red snapper combo with shrimp, hush puppies and fries. The fries were great and salted to perfection. The shrimp and fish had great flavor and a precise crisp. The hush puppies had a kick to it. I'd like to note, the tartar sauce was literally the best I've ever had. Over all, because the food was so good, everything else that went lacking became irrelevant. I recommend this place if you like soul food!
The gumbo is incredible, but it definitely skimps in a HUGE way on the seafood. My entire large order had 3 tiny chunks of grab and maybe 4 or 5 pieces of shrimp. I love the chicken and the sausage, but the seafood in the meal is really what drives the prices as high as it does. I’ll continue going here, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering this again. Ps: I thought it might have just been a bad scoop the first time this happened, but 5 orders later and it’s just gotten worse.
So My mother and I went on 9/22/23. The fish was terrible. It was bland and fried too hard. I went a few months ago and it was good so maybe they have a new cook or something. Prices are too high to be selling bad fish. We won't be going back. I should have known better when I walked in and they hardly had any customers. Waste of money.
I have been a valued customer of Louisiana seafood since they first opened back in the 90’s the owner Roy and his beautiful wife are so nice they know just about all my kids I was a teenager when they first opened they have always been so nice to me and my family No body beats Louisiana seafood they have the BEST seafood I stand on that nobody can top Louisiana seafood
Preface: I've been eating here since I was a kid. Even back when there was competition in town, there was no doubt about who had the best southern fried seafood around. I see other reviewers complaining about service. I been round long enough to feel the point, but again there is no other or better fried seafood spot that can beat Louisiana on deliciousness and consistency. Also, who ever said that restaurant employees should smile and dance or play into your ego to get your business? This is a food spot, so don't expect to have a deep, meaningful breakthrough while ordering a meal. Ok listen, I could sit here and tell you the food or service was better years ago, but what hasn't gotten more expensive and lost some quality over the past couple decades. Louisiana Seafood, LSF is still here and is still a staple for good food and culture in the city of MV. Review: 5 stars cause they nail the food in a consistent way everytime. Not much variance in flavor or plate fill. Don't listen to the reviewers who have been here once and have no benchmark, but complain anyways. People who say it is hard to find don't realize that the city has grown around LSF. It's been there in the same spot forever. My one tip, don't park right in front of LSF. Park away and walk down because the Del Taco drive thru and parking lot bring madness in this area. If you have to park right in front of the building, do yourself a favor and back in to your spot so you can see what's happening when you pull out. This is good food and we should keep supporting LSF or we will be stuck with the trash shrimp Del Taco serves up across the way. I also have to mention and give a shot out to my local rap producer Fella O'Cinco who mentions LSF in his song "Take you Back". It ties in with everything I'm saying about this place. I ordered the four piece whiting dinner combo w/ hush puppies and fries. The fish wasn't greasy and was cooked to perfection. I didn't have any bones to deal with either! The food was excellent!Food: 5/5
First time here. I love catfish, so I ordered 6 from the ala carte menu, and added a medium bowl of their gumbo. One of the people I was with was worried it might be too spicy so they offered her a taste in a small cup, which I thought was nice, and she ordered that also. The food was quite tasty, and I will go back!
Good food. My kids like the 10pc. shrimp and fries meal. It's very busy especially on the weekends. I was having trouble with my card but the cashier took care of me.Food: 5/5
My fave fish spot in the area! Reasonably priced,and fish and shrimp always cooked to perfection. Crowded, would suggest placing order by phone 20-30 minutes prior and picking up.
I have been going to Louisiana seafood for years. But as of late they haven't been seasoning the fish, and the fish is fried too hard. I ordered yesterday, I asked for extra seasoning, the lady on the phone stated no extra seasoning! I guess they have a new cook, please bring back the seasoning!
