Lowell's Restaurant
"Seattle markets hideaway three floors of water view seating with fresh seafood daily. Lowell’s Restaurant & Bar has been serving the public for close to 100 years. In the early 1900′s Lowell’s was a combination coffee roaster, peanut roaster and cafeteria that served the citizens of the Seattle when they visited the “Public Market” to purchase fresh farm produce, seafood and dairy goods."

Visited 5/23/23 While waiting for the market to set up, we decided to grab a bite to eat. However, upon entering, the staff was initially impolite and seemed annoyed by our questions, perhaps assuming we should have already known the answers. Fortunately, once we were seated, the atmosphere improved significantly. Although the menu was on the expensive side, the quality of the food was exceptional. It's important to note that despite the menu suggesting that you can have your eggs prepared any way you like, that wasn't actually the case. I tried to order two eggs over medium and one egg over hard, but I was told that it wasn't possible. Therefore, we settled for all eggs over hard. However, the French toast was absolutely delightful and definitely worth the price. We were fortunate to have a window seat, allowing us to enjoy the view of the bay despite the construction equipment, which somewhat detracted from the overall beauty. The sight and the soothing sounds were still remarkable. Overall, this place, located inside the market, is worth a visit.
If you are at Pike Place Market, you must try the offerings here, you'll leave very satisfied! The service is also excellent. Some of the best fried fish, calamari, and shrimp I've ever had. The crab cakes were devine and served along side and amazing tomato salad.Food: 5/5
The food was fresh, delicious, and beautiful on the plate! Three floors to dine on...we ate on the third floor...the best view! Food came out fast, and I was there on a Sunday during lunch....the place was PACKED!Food: 5/5
Super friendly staff with good food and a great atmosphere. We experienced breakfast on a Friday morning. Menu was limited yet offered a variety of options and the service was timed just right!Food: 5/5
Lowell’s is a very cute two-story seafood restaurant located within Pike’s Market. Upon arrival, you order at the front and then grab drinks and utensils on the first floor. You can then choose your seating on the first or second floors. I’m from the south so please take that into consideration when reading my review. Southern seafood is definitely different from the NW and NE. Pros: - it’s cute and offers some spectacular views of the pacific - the workers were kind and helpful - the seafood was very fresh - I didn’t experience a wait time and food was delivered pretty fast - fried tiger shrimp was absolutely delicious Cons: - limited menu most seafood restaurants don’t have abundant options anyway - small. If you go at a popular time you may be unable to find seating. - EXPENSIVE. Some menu items were outrageously overpriced. A example are the crab cakes. Again, I am southern so any crab cake worth eating better be big and well seasoned. The crab cakes offered here were very small and just okay but cost nearly $30 for 2! That’s nuts. - I got the famous fish and chips, and though the breading wasn’t oily thank God, I felt there wasn’t enough seasoning. The fish tasted bland. The fries were good though. -the clam chowder was also okay. I’ve had better in Maine the Black Cat if you’re interested. Overall, I give this place a 3.5. Not sure I would go back but it was a nice one-off experience.
This is a nice place to have a sit down meal and watch the hustle and bustle of Pike Place. We sat on the 2nd floor and had a birds eye view of some of the stalls. Our waiter was very friendly. We started with the Calamari Strips which were crispy and cooked perfectly. They were accompanied by a roasted red pepper aioli which was so flavorful. For our entrees we had the Chicken Fingers, Fish and Chips, and the Mixed Seafood Grill. The Chicken Fingers were so tender and juicy, they also had a nice panko crust. My Seafood Mixed Grill was amazing, the blackened salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked.
Beautiful views of the water and the restaurant has three floors worth of dining area. The food was okay. The Dungeness crab omelet was dry and the clam chowder was in need of salt. Overall a touristy place and a good location to view the water.Food: 3/5
Arrived just before lunch time opening to sit on 1st or 3rd floor with view of Puget Sound. Great Dungeness Crab Cakes, Northwest Dungeness Crab Melt, and Clam Chowder. Will try Salmon Chowder next time. Friendly ordering and fast service to table. Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult because of crowds.
The views of this place are great. We came for breakfast and the food was good. Nothing extra ordinary but it did the job. You have to stand in line to wait and order. Then sit yourself and get your own coffee and water. Not a big deal, but putting the info out so you know. It was a little on the pricey side over $100 for 4 plates and drinks.
There are always lots of folk here, but it is worth the wait. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is tasty and reasonable in price. The atmosphere is all you can ask for to represent the coolness of Pikes Place Market. I highly recommend...Food: 5/5
