Beautiful lake but tough to get to. Make sure you have 4wd and know what you are doing for your safety and others.
Great spot to camp and hike if you don't mind the humming bird size mosquitos. Used to be great fishing but not so much now. Fish and Game used to stock it regularly with trout but I think they stopped years ago.
Came up from Texas every single summer to visit family and every single summer, my mom brought us here. She passed away and Glidden was such a staple and tradition that we brought her ashes here. It's a very beautiful lake, actually it's a very beautiful area period. The trout will bite on almost anything and there are plenty of good size fish. Remember to bring mosquito repellent because those guys will eat almost everything as well, especially YOU. All in all, this lake is kept clean, there are plenty of un-scared trout, and its hardly ever congested with people. If you remember the bug spray, you wont be disappointed with a day trip up here.
Little busy for being in a ways. Road is passable by car but, has your attention. Few ideal spots for a tent. Still attractive scenery and nice way to spend a day.
Since you can drive to it, there's a lot of trash. Upper lake is way better, you have to walk in. So it deters the most of the people that litter.
What a beautiful lake. Had a great time getting there!
