Had a nice late lunch. Got the fried fish with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Key lime pie for dessert. Clean restaurant with attentive staff.Recommended dishesCornbread
This was my first Luby's experience and I dare say it will be my last. I ordered through Uber Eats. While the delivery was pretty fast, I can say the food delivered was well below sub-par. I ordered two roast beef dinners with mac&cheese and fruit salads as sides. Also ordered a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, corn, and the cream gravy on the side. There was an add-on of pecan pie. Everything arrived cold despite the quick delivery. Nearly hardly of the roast beef was inedible. The gravy on all entrees was missing, as was the pecan pie. Lastly, for the amount paid for entrees, 2T of mac& cheese is more than disappointing. I can only hope that dine-in service receives better quality than this.
It was my worst Luby's experience in over 30 years. The food was gross, service was non-existent, and the sweet tea was day old sludge. I ordered a classic Lubys favorite. Chicken fried steak, no gravy was offered or present?? Dressing, cold and old, and mac. Lubys mac is great when fresh and hot. So I was very disappointed. I have never ever since the age of 8, been disappointed in a stop at lubys. But now, I may never return.
Took my Dad here the day before Thanksgiving, both to celebrate his birthday and an early Thanksgiving. The food was pretty good, but not as good as it used to be. The turkey was not terribly flavorful, but decent. Definitely doesn't taste as good as my own. Sweet Potato casserole not that great & contained potato skins. Dressing & gravy quite tasty & fried okrah is still the bomb! Pumpkin pie was passable, but not really impressive. We have been going here for years and it's gone downhill quite a bit, while the prices have greatly increased & portions decreased. Happy to see this Luby's still open, but not the best cafeteria food in town!
My brother wanted to eat here, but I was skeptical. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my food. It was tasty and seasoned well. My sister enjoyed her liver and onions, but she didn't like the creamed potatoes. I also was surprised at how much food I received. I thought I was getting a piece of chicken, and I got a half a chicken. I was able to eat off of my plate twice! The food is affordable too!
The food was just sad. However, I lay part of the blame on myself, one should never eat at a buffet style restaurant in the middle of the afternoon. The wait staff was quite friendly and attentive, and the servers did take the time to drain the water off the vegetable servings. I think coming during a proper lunch or supper time would yield better results.
Have always and will continue to enjoy coming to Luby’s. This time was at the Stafford location for take out and I’ll say wether dine in or takeout customer service is always excellent. Food: 5/5
The long line moved quickly and the staff were nice. The line was moving too quickly for us to figure out what was ok for our kid to eat without allergens. The table staff was very attentive and made sure we were looked after. The kid high chair was sticky and we had to clean it ourselves. The food temperature was cold once I was able to eat it. Dietary restrictions: It was a little unclear and rushed since the line was moving fast to figure out what items had allergens.
Ahhhh…. Family time at Luby’s. Nothing like eating a fresh and healthy meal at Luby’s! We are the chicken fried steak, black eye peas, pinto beans and my son ate chicken fried steak, macaroni and okra. We will be here on new years for the black eye peas for sure! There aren’t many of these restaurants around after COVID, but this one made it. The food is great, it’s not cold and gross tasting like it’s been out forever, and the employees are so nice and friendly. All of them super happy to help, offer their advice on which meal is better, which side to pick from. I highly recommend this place if you want a great meal at a fair price. To many people like to do the meals to go or whatever…. I say “goto Luby’s and sit down with the family and enjoy being out.”
We were truly disappointed today. My husband and I had chicken fried chicken in which the crust was very hard, my mom and grandkids had the chicken strips and those were very dry and hard as well. The gravy was watery and lumpy. Mac and cheese did not taste all that great either. We always done at Different Lubys location, this location was a big thumbs down. The waitress however was very cordial and nice 5 star for her service.
