A treasure in every corner awaits you. Located In a restored Mill built in 1856. Its a one of a kind shoppe
Imagine taking a leisurely drive in the countryside to a quaint village known as Wellesley, we would love to welcome you to our Vintage Shoppe.
Nestled in the northwest corner of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, amidst the rolling countryside of farms and quaint settlements (many unchanged since the mid-1800’s) lies the bustling village of Wellesley. You will pass farm fields lush with new crops, horse and buggies, and pastoral scenery. Leaving the city behind you, you will find yourself standing beside the Wellesley Mill.
As Doors Open Waterloo Region describes:
The Wellesley Mill is a rarity among existing Ontario Mill buildings, both for its age and construction. Built originally in 1856 and the addition added in 1910. Its half timber walls consist of massive timber framing resting on a stone foundation, with brick infilling between the timbers. Few mills have survived from the nineteenth century in such good condition, and most of those that have are built either of brick or stone. The foundation walls of the Wellesley Mill range between thirty inches and three to four feet in thickness. Remnants of original milling equipment, including pulleys, bins and other memorabilia from the mills past are still in place.
Take a moment to reflect and look at the gallery wall showcasing some pictures of the mill then and now. You can feel the character within the building. We believe the Vintage Shoppe and Studio space allow the creativity of the building to be exposed.
We aim to open a space that allows all forms of art a place of freedom. We believe
As easily as you can think
