What a lovely little park for a picnic or a walk! Many of the trees have signs telling you what they are, the path is easy going and clear, and there's plenty of parking and lakeside views.
I always like to tell a story of my out-of-town trips. In the background pictured a bridge. Two kayakers were traveling under the bridge, as I was going over the top. So I went home and told people I ran over two kayakers. My wife caught it right away. One thing interesting is that they have a disc golf course within the park. I find that interesting because I know a person or two that does that for fun and recreation. They have a huge playground area for the kiddos. They also have pit toilets and portable toilets that get maintained regularly. I have seen dogs in the park. I don't know the particulars of that.
Excellent playground! It is so neat to explore all the secret spots. Playground: Castle shaped with lots of nooks and places to crawl through and explore. Wooden structure. Restrooms: There was a porta potty nearby. Picnic area: There were tables for picnics.
They have a nice beach, large boat landing, walkway and this on the island. Before the island is a 3 or 4 block long park. They hold events here. Area for some sports. Open space for relation. To the east is a walkway that takes you to a nice view on the harbor.
My niece loved this park and Ive always loved these wooden castle parks, which are mostly all designed in the same manner. The castle structure is big and has many secret entrance and tunnels amd mazes designed for little kids to spend hours there without being bored. Picnic area: Perfect place for a gathering
Extensive paved walkways, abundant drinking fountains and picnic tables, beautiful setting, lots of historical information posted on plaques flanked with pretty, well maintained gardens, and a fantastic museum and lighthouse...what's not to love? Great job, Escanaba, this place is a destination in itself! Picnic area: Lots of tables to choose from, clean drinking water everywhere, and a lot of trash cans to keep the park clean.
