Lumberton Family Funeral Home
"Our goal is to provide families in Lumberton, TX and the surrounding areas with the best service possible during one of the most difficult times in their lives at a much more reasonable price than the area funeral homes. We know that planning a loved ones funeral is difficult enough as it is, and we hope to provide the same compassionate care and service that we would expect for one of our loved ones. We have seen first hand the financial burden put on families by rising funeral, cremation and burial costs and wish to offer an alternative to the families of Lumberton and Southeast Texas."

Lumberton Family Funeral Home is appropriately named. They really make you feel like they are part of your family. We feel so blessed to have found them in our time of need. They came to our house to get information for the obituary instead of making us go to the funeral home. We can't thank them enough for everything that they did.
Never have we been in a Funeral Home like this one. So wonderfully attentive. Right there if you have questions and ready to answer anything. This will be where my Husband and I go to be cremated. I have lots of faith in them . They do wonderful work. Office secretary is well informed. Nicest people i have ever met.GOD BLESS
The worst place I've ever wanted to go but there the most awesome's people that you would ever want to meet there the most compassionate people you would ever want to meet they help me out in a time of need when no one else would not even my own family so if there is ever and I'm hoping you won't need them but if you do they would be the ones I would choose so Lumberton family funeral home thank y'all very much y'all so very awesome! Thank You Madonna Blackshere!
Lumberton Family Funeral Home handled the services for both my mother in law and my sister within about a 5 month period. I assure you I couldn't recommend these folks enough. Their compassion and their true care for the family was very comforting. I asked a lot of questions both in text and email and always received prompt replies. They truly went out of their way I feel to make sure these services were the best they could have been. I have had to plan a couple other funerals unfortunately but the experiences those times was nothing like the great experience I had with Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Thank you all again, you were a great comfort to us all especially Micah who truly went above and beyond.
I will start off by saying that the staff was very friendly, once we did finally see them. When I walked in for the visitation there were no staff to be seen to direct us towards the room for the viewing, the sign-in book, nor to show us where the programs were. However, this place is disgusting. We walked in and immediately the whole pace smells like decaying corpses. I understand this is a funeral home and they store and handle dead bodies, but the whole pace shouldn’t smell like this. The staff must know it smells horribly of decaying bodies because they have small wax melters in a couple of places as well as what smells like Lysol sprayed everywhere. The smell was unbearable and has me questioning how they are storing the bodies and their hygiene practices. The air conditioning was either not working or they didn’t have it turned up very high because it was extremely hot and everyone was fanning themselves. The carpet in this place was just as nasty as the smell in the building. There were large nasty stains everywhere. There were several misspelled words in the program, as well as poor wording and punctuation. They provided bottled water, however it was at room temp even though there was a room with a full size fridge. Overall, if you have the finances to go somewhere else, then do it.
Lumberton Family Funeral Home LLC made such a difference for my family when I saw their ad to planning a funeral ahead of time.8 We met and talked and covered the information, he was very friendly and openly discussed the options and different selections. We filled out all paperwork and paid the note off easily without interest or red tape. Now I can relax about arrangements and how are we going to get things done for my mother who the arrangements are for. She is 98 and it is so much better than what we went through when my father passed away. Mother had paid for her Memory Gardens burial plot years ago. But few years ago we started paying on the cement vault and the opening and closing of the grave, then the burial service now is done. Next is the headstone and flowers. Thank you Lumberton Family Funeral Home for enabling me to be fee of worry so that I can grieve without the stress of facing funeral cost at that time.
My husband passed and Adam was awesome. I was having a very hard time with his passing and Adam stood with me til they left my home. I felt like I made the right choice in choosing a funeral home.. Then I met with Micah she seemed very helpful. She had explained thing of what they needed time line for pics and music the obit. We had gone over all the arrangements. I emailed everything she needed. The day of services the 30 minutes of family time well everyone had gone in before I was told I could go in to see my husband. And at that time I received the memorial pamphlet to learn that it had been changed everything has been changed with out my knowledge or approval 1 my son and his children had been removed from not only the obit but from the program itself 2 then my son and his pictures with my husband were removed from the picture cd along with many other pictures removed 3 then all my music has been changed not only for my husband's services but for his picture cd. Now I didn't know any of these changes were done I wasn't notified of anything. As far as I knew my husband's memory would be in that service for all to share in his memory. I was devastated as I learned these things moments before the services were to begin. I always thought that when they wife widow made certain arrangements that was it and if there was a change she would be notified for approval. How dare someone take my memories of my husband and my son away from us like that. Its inexcusable now my memories I have are how this person could or would do something like this and act as if nothing is wrong. Since I've tried calling her and she won't return my calls . Now I still have not gotten death certificate and social security is still waiting on this form that's never been faxed. Devastated Renee Burton
My husband passed away at the young age of 34 and Micah the director was absolutely amazing!! She was there to answer all my questions rather crazy ones or not. Made our children’s first funeral a very meaningful one. Even after the funeral she has been very helpful. Will definitely recommend them to anyone!!!!! Very family oriented and loved all the staff!!!!!!!!
My father’s funeral service was held here during July of 2019. I waited several months to write this review, to be sure my opinion is not colored by the grief I was feeling. This funeral home’s failure to provide the basics in expected services continues to stun me, to this day. The following issues occurred: 1-the deceased ashes were placed in the wrong urn. 2-immediate family members were supposed to have 30 minutes alone in the chapel ahead of the full audience arriving for the service. This didn’t happen, and therefore, no private time for immediate family only to grieve occurred. 3-funeral home employees did not provide services to the widow, basic details like ensuring she knew where to go, where to sit, when and where guests should sit, etc. 4-after the services they could not locate the sign-in book for several weeks, worrying the family that it was lost forever. 5-the air conditioning was broken in July. I realize that item #5 can happen to any business, and I wouldn’t fault them for that. However, I’ve never attended a funeral where an employee of the funeral home left the widow and immediate family to fend for themselves to navigate a complicated event while dealing with terrible grief. I continue to be stunned, more than six months later, how this business failed to deliver what seems to be basic services for the deceased’s family.
I feel hesitant to write this review, the simple fact is that "words" cannot justifiably describe the incredibly + experience that my family and I had with Lumberton Family Funeral Home. From the very first meeting, to the very last guest leaving my brother's memorial service the staff was not only involved in every step, they also integrated themselves professionally and sympathetically into our grief. The one thing I looked least forward to was the planning and executing of the memorial service, yet because of the people at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, it turned out to truly be a beautiful experience of healing, laughter and great memories of a great man. The best rating I could give was a 5-Star rating, however, the truth is this company is simply beyond 5-Stars. If you and your family are dealing with the tragic loss of a loved one, as we were, I strongly encourage you to, at the very least, meet with Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Ray Williams and his staff are incredibly compassionate and treat others like family, not clients. They obviously have my highest and most respected recommendation.
