Pre-employment Screening
Prospective electricians and apprentices undergo the following multi-step evaluation process prior to hiring:
-Licenses and certifications must be presented and are verified with the appropriate state authorities.
-Independent-lab drug testing is conducted. --Lumenal Lighting maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy.
-An in-depth background check and driving abstract are obtained on all final candidates.
Licensing and Apprentice Program
-All technicians carry the appropriate licensing as prescribed in state codes.
-Apprentices are accompanied by licensed supervisors, and their work is consistently double-checked.
-Apprentices accumulate trainee hours under supervision, and are allowed to work independently only after successful completion of Washington State examinations.
Continuing Education
-Regular advanced certification courses are conducted and designations are earned, such as the CALT (Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician) and CSLT (Certified Senior Lighting Technician) offered by NALMCO.
-Mandatory attendance is required for product and emerging technology training administered by manufacturer's representatives and other specialists.
