I read a lot of reviews before I came to millennium hotel. Not panic but definitely no expectations at all. Most of them are scary reviews! But, maybe I am just lucky and lucky to have Cooper in the front desk helped me. I had a great room and a pleasant stay for couple of days. So if you run into Cooper to help you, it’s going to be your lucky day! Please give Cooper a raise, dear management : Rooms: Comfortable
The rooms are great, and the king size beds are very comfortable. Black out curtains and the place is extremely quite. The location is great. A short walk through the park to the Walker Art Center, plus the hotel is right downtown. It’s a half hour walk to Target Field, but the free downtown bus services takes you to within a five minute stroll if you’d rather. The bad: They offer next to no services. No room service, no housekeeping, no towel or coffee replacement. You have to ask the front desk for everything, and then they only do it half-way decent. The restaurant is always empty, but there’s a great diner right next door. Coffee to take out is $5 a cup, and it’s yuck. The parking is outrageously expensive. It’s the least expensive place to stay downtown, however, so it’s worth it for the price, location, and the clean comfortable bed. Rooms: Smallish and very comfortable. Nearby activities: Target Field, US Bank Stadium, Walker Art Center, Warehouse District, Central Library, Foshay Tower are all within walking distance. Walkability: You can walk anywhere downtown from the hotel.
Triple charged me, staff is friendly but not good at solving problems - place just doesn't seem to have its act together, including these follow-up surveys. Room was fine, but I would not stay there again. More trouble than it was worth. Walkability: Nicollet Mall is easy to walk around in, with good restaurants nearby.
Great location, great deal! Having its own ramp/garage was a big help. It's a reasonably short walk to nearly the whole downtown. Being able to leave our cars in the hotel parking area was a huge help. Everything is clean, functional, efficient, unpretentious, and comfortable.Rooms: 5/5
Good value, nice lobby for hanging out and chatting, overall quiet, comfortable. Convenient to attractions and food. The room service doesn’t come by every day unless you ask, but that was fine with me because I had plenty of towels, etc., so I didn’t require any services. I would stay here if I ever am in Minneapolis again. Walkability: Walkable to lots of good restaurants
The rooms were okay and the service was absolutely wonderful until it came time for check out. The night before we were to check out we requested a late checkout and were charged for it. Only to find out the next day the hotel was too full and they couldn't do late checkouts. This was never communicated to us, we were just supposed to somehow have known this. The only reason we found out was because we had a question regarding them double charging us for the room a charge that is still pending 2 days after checking out.
Rooms: 3/5 The room was fine, no complaints. It wasn't anything to write home about, but I have no qualms with it. Service: 1/5 There was a long wait to check in, despite there only being one person ahead of us. I'm never one to complain about service workers attitudes as I understand it's a difficult job, but it wasn't a very welcoming environment. Additionally, parking was $35, which I've come to expect at downtown hotels. The issue arose when the parking garage charged me $35 again after parking for a mere 7 minutes. I tried to tell the staff and the woman on the phone was very rude and questioning me why I didn't just come in instead of paying. I told her that wasn't a possibility since I'd be blocking the exit and she said that she didn't know what else to say and I'd have to talk to the manager. I called back to speak to the manager and he wasn't there. I left my number and never got a call back or my money back for the double charge. Overall, I probably won't be staying here again.
Rooms were decent. Location was great for walking around, but one should be aware the area has shelters close by. However the biggest issue is that were we not made aware that hotel parking costs 35$ a night. The hotel should have made that known at the time of booking.Rooms: 3/5
Unfortunately I have to say, that this is one of the worst hotels I stayed while on vacation in the US. The rooms are very small, a “superior king size room” is smaller than a room in a much cheaper hotel. When I arrived in my room the temperature was hot and I had to turn the AC to maximum. Then I saw that the AC was full of dust. In other hotel, it is cleaned every month or so, but in this hotel it seems that it hasn’t been cleaned for years. Also my Wifi was not working. When I told that to the hotel lady, at least a staff member came up to my room fixed the Wifi that was provided by the TV in the room and he also gave me an extra Ethernet cord for my notebook to plug it in directly. He couldn’t fix the AC, but told me to close the window curtains, which worked, so some hours later the room was not hot any more. For parking I had to pay 35 dollars per night, which is a bit more than I expected, but I guess that other hotels in this area will charge a similar amount of money. The hotel is connected to the Minneapolis Sky Way, so you can easily walk to other buildings in the city center. For breakfast you can choose the hotel restaurant or you can go to The Nicollet Diner nearby that offers excellent food, also for lunch or dinner.
