I have never had to deal with people like the ones at this place. Not one single person that I have had to speak with has even remotely acted like they had any knowledge of law. Lumpkin County officials really need to fire that entire staff. Totally unprofessional. Because you have a badge does not give you the right to act like GOD. Not one of those badges entitles you to act the way you do. This place seriously need someone extremely high up to take a look at this place maybe then something would be done to fix the MAJOR PROBLEMS......
The sheriff's in this town get away with an awful lot more than they should, and they are in no way discreet in knowing so. I was unlawfully arrested about a week ago, but while detained, I watched an officer throw a lit cigarette atop a full, 5 gallon jug of gas that I had in my truck bed. During my stay at this jail, 2 SD cards, a duplicate set of truck keys, my driver's license, and all of my money had all gone missing, without any record of it being there, while locked in their property. Upon my released, I found that 5 of my beers from inside the cab had been consumed and the empty cans crushed & thrown into the back of my truck. To top it all off, my entire toolbox, full of expensive camping gear, had been vandalized and flooded with my own automotive fluids. Lumpkin County is a wreck. Don't think you're abiding by the law in this county, these sheriffs make their own rules.
It's sad that your supposed to have respectful sheriff office but yesterday I was very sad to see what I saw with my own two eyes I thought it's against the law to drive any vehicle with no tags of any kind and no insurance especially if the ones that's driving the vehicle serving wanted on drug charges the deputy that knew this didn't do nothing to them but took a young man to jail the deputy name is officer hotlzclaw when deputy hotlzclaw was told that the two people driving there car with no tags on it or not even no insurance was wanted on drug charges he didn't arrest them he just arrested my son and just ignored the one's that is breaking the law on purpose guess it's not against the law if you don't have no tags on the car any where and guess you can drive with no insurance as well deputy hotlzclaw admitted to my husband that he knew that the other people was drug addicts but he just walked off and let them go it's sad when lumpkin county sheriff office let's a known drug addicts continue to break the law just think that deputy hotlzclaw should have done better job then what he did that just telling everyone that lives on the dirt road I live on hey it's OK we can do whatever we want because we get in any trouble in lumpkin county just think that your deputy should have done more of better job than he did because the guy that's wanted was hiding right under his nose there's a junk yard back in behind one of the trailers that's where he was hiding out and watching him
Officer foster was awesome!!! He is one of the first officers I have ever met who have such compassion for people and animals ! Thank you office Foster for all you have done !!
Did nothing when the owner Jennifer dawkinsof etowah river campgrounds assaulted a lady on video. Disgusting.
Racial profiling must stop. "Staying" here briefly from Miami Florida to escape hurricane Irma and we were followed around town by detectives who suddenly showed up at my sister in laws house to interrogate us about bogus allegations of drugs because according to the the five detectives that showed up my Hispanic dark-skinned husband looked suspicious coming out of a hair salon earlier that morning. Horrible.
