The LV Healing Garden is a community built project to remember to victims of the October 1 tragedy. This Facebook page is not run by the City of Las Vegas, but run through the LV Healing Garden Committee -a community group formed by stakeholders.
The Las Vegas community came together to build a new community healing garden in response to the Oct. 1 tragedy, when a lone gunman massacred 58* individuals and injured 489* more who were attending a music festival. Stonerose Landscapes principals Jay Pleggenkuhle and Daniel Perez designed a memorial garden that was constructed on City of Las Vegas property at 1015 S. Casino Center Blvd. The garden features a wall of remembrance, a grove of trees, shrubs, flowers, walkways of pavers and benches – all to create something beautiful out of something horrific. This garden park was completed in four days and officially opened Oct. 6. Numerous local companies, organizations and individuals contributed to the construction effort.
In November 2017, Outside Las Vegas Foundation was brought on as the non-profit partner of the LV Healing Garden to assist in the upkeeping, planning, and day to day activities of the garden. Together with Stonerose Landscapes and other local companies, OLVF formed the LV Healing Garden Committee to ensure the garden's sustainability for years to come.
