Lyman is a census-designated place (CDP) in Harrison County, Mississippi, United States. It is part of the Gulfport - Biloxi Metropolitan Statistical Area. The racial makeup of the CDP was 86.22% White, 12.49% African American, 0.56% Native American, 0.28% Asian, and 0.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.48% of the population.There were 367 households out of which 42.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.5% were married couples living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.0% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
