M State Wadena Campus is Minnesota's northern most state cosmetology school serving central Minnesota for over 50 years, licensing professionals statewide.
The M State cosmetology program, located on the Wadena Campus, has proudly served central Minnesota for over 50 years. The instructors haveyears of combined industry experience to train students in cosmetology, manicuring and esthetics.
Students can choose from three program options when enrolling in cosmetology. Students enrolled in the cosmetology program complete 1,550 hours of training in all areas of hair, nails and skin. Students enrolled in the manicuring program complete 350 hours of training in a variety of manicures and pedicures, gels, acrylics and nail art. Students enrolled in the esthetic program complete 600 hours of training in a wide variety of skin care treatments, makeup, eyelash extensions and hair removal. Once a student has completed his/her required hours, completed skills requirements and certification, and completed the state exam in their chosen profession as well as the state law test, he/she is eligible to apply for Minnesota licensure.
Additional electives include: microdermabrasion, chemical peels and dermasound, acrylic nail art, Alexandria Body Sugaring and advanced clipper cutting techniques.
M State Wadena now offers the 4-hour continuing education course required for licensure renewal for operators and managers. The course is offered online. M State accepts transfer and returning students anytime and financial aid is available to those that qualify.
