PRCA Rodeo
The idea to have a ProRodeo in Grassy Butte was born from a discussion around a campfire in Huntsville, Texas with some of the top PRCA bronc riders and PRCA personnel. The talk led to North Dakota’s remarkable oil boom and the states lack of PRCA rodeos and the timing of a rodeo.
Bar C5 Rodeo Company from Lac La Biche, Alberta is one of the fastest growing and most talked about stock contractor in the PRCA because of their contribution to the bucking stock industry in ProRodeo the top bronc riders in the world committed to attend the Maah Daah Hey Rodeo. Bar C5 Rodeo decided to produce this rodeo along with some of the biggest identities in ProRodeo so that each of our rodeo performances will be like watching a round of the NFR in Las Vegas. To help create that atmosphere we have hired 12x WNFR Announcer Boyd Polhamus, WNFR Bullfighter Dusty Tuckness and are adding $25,000 in prize money.
Why Grassy Butte, North Dakota? Grassy Butte is one of the best kept secrets in Western North Dakota, it is in the heart of the Badlands and the home of the first rodeo ever produced in North Dakota, The Long X Stampede. We are located along Highway 85 which gives us access to the Maah Daah Hey Trail, 40 acres of privately owned land available for free camping during the Memorial Day Holiday. We will also be having a Party on the Prairie following each performance and on site Texas Pit BBQ and Cajun Gumbo. Our long term goal is to make this rodeo a destination location to kick off the summer season!
