We went to this restaurant/bar that has been in business a very long time!!! The food is fantastic, all sides are set, you just have to pick your meat! The bread is warm and moist! The minestrone is flavourful and served family style The salad is tasty, but could use more than lettuce and 1 piece of salami. My steak was cooked perfectly as asked and had lots of flavor! They also have good drinks and especially for the price! Only real compliant is that the place was very hot! Antioch is a hot place!!! You need decent AC!
Come here for a cheap, well-made drink and an affordable, quick, filling meal. Every meal comes with a small house salad, some of the best minestrone soup, and warm bread and butter. The salmon is typically well seasoned and very succulent, and the prime rib is always cooked perfectly. The menu is small but consistent in its quality. Expect lots of local friendly faces. This place is only open for dinner and stays packed! Make sure your entire party is together, if you'd like to be seated quickly. If there's a wait, it's usually not that long, and you can buy a drink and wait outside on their front patio/lawn area where it's typically nice and breezy and less packed. Parking is a bit tight but fairly easy to maneuver. This is a dine-in, cash only establishment, but if you forget, there's an ATM inside. Enjoy the local digs! Kid-friendliness: Kids can be comfortable and are very welcomed here. There is no kids menu, but the main menu has options to share with your littles. I would not recommend picky eaters' venture here, as there are no basic kids' choices. There are high chairs, booster seats, kids cups, and juices. The environment gets fairly loud, as it's a small space that fills quickly, so loud children will not be out of place. If you find yourself waiting with children, there is lawn space outside for them to run around on and a large tree for them to climb with a watchful eye, this area is in front of the restaurant and adjacent to the street. Parking: The gravel parking lot wraps around the restaurant, with one way in and one way out. It provides lots of spaces but becomes tight to maneuver when the restaurant is very busy.

Been eating here since I was a kid! The food is the same! Great portions and taste. Of course, the minestrone soup is the absolute best! Pricing was still awesome, as well as the service! Tip: get there early to avoid the wait!Food: 5/5
Bang for your buck this is the best place I've eaten in the past 30 years. You can easily have 3x cocktails, 3x bowls of soup, 3x Dinner salads, 3x dinners & a fresh loaf of bread and be out of the place for $90.00. And honestly all of the food is A- to A quality. Don't get me wrong. There are many places with better food but you'll pay far more than Mac's Old House. And, I'll bet of you go there? It won't be once. It will be a regular place to go back to.

I only had 7 pieces of pasta as a side dish. I know they are trying to conserve, but when you can count the pasta IS NOT ENOUGH TO GET YOU THROUGH YOUR MEAT/FISH! What do they give children? 3 pieces? Parking: Loose gravel is hard to walk on with a cane
Waiters are absolutely overwhelmed and it shows in their service. Can't get their attention. Cannot get a refill. One guy in a party of 8 was yelling so loud that I had to go outside to chill out. Nobody cares here they just want cheap food and cheap drinks.Food: 4/5
