This is a clean but dying mall. The reason I gave them 5 stars is because of their epic Schindler elevators. Also as you can see they have a very clean toilet.
I really enjoyed the mall. Especially Dillard's. I love the whole experience. The associates treat you like they really appreciate and respect you. They are patient and ready to serve.
Honestly quite vacant. If i had to hazard a guess, I'd say 80% of the vendor stalls are empty thanks Amazon... Not really anything there worth looking at, though I'm not super big into shopping. But my teenaged daughter was also done shopping in less than an hour and she LOVES shopping, so I think that speaks volumes about the lack of.. volume. Was clean and people who were there seemed nice enough. The Chinese food vendors up in the food court were keen on giving out samples trying to drum up business.
This mall is excellent, it used to be better before the shooting at lids, which is why I think most of the businesses are moving out of here. I know that the city of Norfolk just bought this place, but if Regal were to do a complete shutdown and remodel I believe that it would rejuvenate this mall so that businesses would come back. A movie theater like Regal is a powerhouse that can bring people in The only problem is that Regal hasn't been touched since probably the early 2000s. Every time I go into that Regal it is very musty and the upholstery desperately needs to be updated and replaced.
When this place first opened it was fabulous! Built for locals and even international tourists. It was something special to behold. However this latest visit revealed a place largely vacated. Several shops are out of business or have vacated the premises. It felt hollow, bare. Other venues were priced to sell. It appears to be fading away. Kind of sad, really. There are deals to be had if the remaining stock interests you. I don't know how long it can or will continue to slide into obscurity though.
I like this mall, I like the location. The stores are really good but barely anyone shops here anymore. I hope to see this change. It's a great central hub for the area.
Quality and affordable parking decks connected to the mall. Good downtown location to walk to other businesses. Inside was clean 3 story with food courts, restraints, and movie theaters on top floor. Good variety of stores.
The 3rd level has a play area for young children. Ample parking. Some of the stores are unfortunately closing their doors.
This mall has had its ups and downs, but recently, I would say they are experiencing an up time. There are certainly new and interesting stores with more attention to the art/creative community. More small businesses, which is a plus, who are friendly, as expected for the business owners in the area.
Not anything like how it used to be. Many of the shops were closed/gone when we went. Used to love traveling here, but now I don't see a need to. Great place to walk around and get your cardio in though!
