I jokingly refer to Macy’s as “the mothership,” but since I was a freshman in college it has been a staple in my shopping excursions. The deals can’t be beat, and I’m a slave to Last Act any department, especially at the end of a season. Back Stage hasn’t been my most favorite, but for home goods and men’s casual apparel it’s worth a browse whenever I go in. I’m such an evangelist that I had my husband apply for a card and get his wedding suit there last year! I only have two ongoing qualms: the near-constant moving of departments, and the lacking cleanliness - both of which I can mentally set aside. Earlier this week I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a new Kentucky section on the second floor, and just a few aisles away, a Toys R Us installation! I’ll give it to them, Macy’s is trying to innovate and stay afloat, and I’m here to help. Shoutout to Darrell on the third floor in home/bedding - he helped me several times while pregnant and knows that floor inside out! I also want to thank customer service on the first floor for extending me a courtesy gift certificate $25 after I bought a dress for a wedding last week, and the day of I went to put it on, and found a security tag on the sleeve - an hour and a half before the wedding! That was a nice gesture.
This is an amazing store. I love all the selection in styles of clothes and the variety of products. The lady in the perfume department was super nice and helped us tremendously. There are so many fragrances to choose from here. The only thing I didn't like about the store is that it is very hot on the second floor and the merchandise is very crowded together throughout the store.
I know I'm aging, but where are the directories in large, multi-floor stores? And does anyone else have a hard time hearing and understanding sales associates? It's not just one store, or just Macy's. Staff should be trained to speak up and directly to the buyer and to enunciate, not mumble and look around like they're bored. And don't assume that all customers know all steps of the checkout or return processes. Technology and procedures change often.
Macy’s is Macy’s but you have to find a good sale. Found some great buys in the jewelry section and also home goods. Check out area kinda sparse . If you are true shopper you can find bargains
Meh, service is awful. Prices aren't great and they are having an identity crisis with the store within a store stuff. If you can catch multiple coupons on a special day it may be worth a trip. We dug through clearance and picked out items then they didn't honer the advertised percentages off. We tried to explain but it wasn't even worth it. Realized later they charged us the wrong price on some of the things we did buy. This would be a one star review but I like riding the escalators. They have two up and two down. I'll ride all day while my wife shops. Hahaha, but seriously one escalator stops and I'll revise to one star.
I like the products offered from Macy's. I did not have the most pleasant experience shopping there recently. It wasn't really many shoppers and it was about 730. The personnel were literally avoiding me to assist me. I know it sounds odd but the customer service with me was lacking. I had to go online to order what I was looking for.
The prices of everything in this store are ridiculously expensive . It's kind of ridiculous to spend that kind of money when you can go somewhere else and get the same thing for so much cheaper. I mean polo shirts for $138 give me a break. $200 jeans come on. You can find what you're looking for at least in the men's section.
I stood at Macy's Chanel counter for 15 minutes ignored by the Chanel saleslady. Finally, a saleslady from another counter approached me and said, "what do you want" NOT "may I help you" Thinking this was the only help I would receive I replied "Sublimage Tente" She said "What?" I repeated my request then she said "What?" I repeated my request and she said, "I can't understand you" Finally, the Chanel saleslady noticed me and said, "Can I help you?" before I could answer, the first saleslady responded "I can't understand her" and walked away. When I told the Chanel saleslady what I wanted she said, "we don't carry that" I then said I would like to look at eyeliners. She waved her hand behind her and said they are over there and went behind her counter. She didn't even offer to show me what my choices were. Ive shopped all over the world in many languages and in many cultures. AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISMISSED AND TREATED AS RUDELY AS I WAS AT CHANEL IN MACY'S IN LEXINGTON KY.
Love the quality of clothing, shoes, home decor, kitchen cookware, etc. Sales are great. Love my star rewards. I have no complaints. One problem with a return that was resolved in 6 plus years of being a platinum card holder. I love shopping at Macy's in-store and online.
Macy's isn't what it use to be. I was In their kitchen department today. No help and no pricing on merchandise. I am not going to carry something heavy around the store to find someone to help or to scan a product. Corporate America is failing in customer service. Technology is NOT customer service. I am beginning to believe customer service is gone. So sad. I might as well shop Amazon even though I don't want to.
