Nice trail to walk, runs along river.I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if your in the area it's a nice stroke. Does have parking, dogs ok and trail out for kids.
Cool little spot to spend an hour. They have a port a potty, dog poop bags and several picnic tables. They have a large sign which shows some of the history of the boat building that took place here. It is a short walk to the river where we saw small fish, crawdads and a snake in the water. There is a nice forest trail that goes down to burnside park as well and another that goes to the library.
Nice little place for a picnic by the river. Little parking lot. By the house there is a picnic table by the river. Walk down the path and there is a trail down to the waters edge. Connects to other trail system, to a park and playground. Lots of wildlife, including deer sightings. During the winter holiday,it is a great walk, especially for young kiddos. They light up the forest, and have a hunt for the kids. Great year round walking park.
A little lighted stroll at the end of a street at the “Maddax” house. We had a great time walking the lighted path seeing the small animal sculptures along the way. There’s also a trail behind the house along the river for guests to enjoy.
Always empty with very few annoying life forms. Plus, a super easy entrance through a neighborhood that ends in a tiny gravel parking lot. Dorothy library trail head starts in the parking lot and also leads down to the water at the opposite side of the lot. Beware of the residents in the house that sits on the far end of the parking lot. They will call police if it's Halloween and you walk down to the water in corpse paint and fire wood and joyfully call out "Happy Halloween" coupled with a friendly wave. Police were very quick to respond. We were unsure of the public fire rules at the time but now having the proper information, we will be able to avoid having to vacate in the future. Always know your rights and never be afraid to exercise them! Even in silly and/or slightly comical situations.
Love this place! Was there two months ago when yes, google said it had opened for the season. But I guess they decided to close an hour early. That was a bummer and a waste of gas but worth how it is when the lights are on! Great place to take pictures and explore with friends or loved ones.
Dont come here. It's horrible. Alligators will eat you! Alligators in Oregon, right. Really, this place is a quiet little gem. A few small trails to hike, and the neighborhood maintains a lovely bench and viewing platform. Worth a stop as well over the holidays, they dress the place up quite nice.
Dreams of river pirates, mysterious lost Indian tribes, & ghosts of WWII era' marine technology. beautiful cozy, serene woods the likes of no other. meneries of my child hood, I grew up on these river banks, I hope it will be the place I die.
Great for kids. Small up close display. Very nice for little ones with short attention spans. Fun animal search for young children. And some boat building history for the guys.
