Magnolia Fire Department

I had been running errands for a couple of hours and within an hour of my return I began to smell ammonia. I rarely use ammonia and could remember buying any in the past decade. I live in a condo so I called my neighbor to warn her since the scent seemed to be coming from our shared wall. After I completed my amateur investigation; I called the Pinehurst Fire Dept. They listened patiently and responded within minutes. Engine 913 and firemen Blake, Womack and Anliker carefully inspected the area I was concerned about. They asked my permission before moving through my condo. They handled my belongings gently. They respected my home just as I think they would have done their own. I retired to this area nearly 15 years ago and I have always received respectful and courteous responses from all my encounters with public employees. They are excellent diplomats for our village. No I don’t live in the million dollar condos. No I am not anyone of influence. I’m just an elderly lady who has to “ depend on the kindness of strangers” to quote a great author.

Thank you Pinehurst Fire Station for opening Your House during the recent power outage. You provided charging stations, coffee, warmth from our cold homes, and kindness. You went above and beyond to make all community members welcome. Thank you again, and Happy Holidays! Thank you for your service!
