This is the official Facebook page for Magrath Sports Complex. This state-of-the-art sports and fitness facility is the focal point for many of Fort Drum's sports programs.

Description

Magrath houses three full-size basketball courts, two racquetball courts, and a 178 meter three-lane walking and jogging track.

The Strength and Condition Training Rooms are comprised of free weights, machines, and stretching areas. Free weights range from 2 lb to 160 lb dumb bells. There are also kettle bells for specialized workouts. Muscle-specific Life Fitness machines, flat benches, squat racks, and cable machines are available.

Fitness rooms provide step masters, tread mills, seated bikes, and vertical bikes. This equipment is on a first-come, first-served basis with a 30 minute usage time.

Magrath offers a 25-meter, six-lane pool with diving platforms at ten and twenty-five meters, all under constant lifeguard supervision. This pool is open daily for PT and open swim. A swim test is required for full use of the pool by youth. See a lifeguard for testing. Free swim lessons and Lifeguard training is offered to Active Duty Soldiers.

The Intramural Sports Office also is located in Magrath Sports Complex.



"Located on Tigris River Valley Road off North Riva Ridge Loop, Magrath Sports Complex is the focal point for many of Fort Drum's sports, fitness, and aquatics programs as well as many events. The facility houses three basketball/volleyball courts; a 25-meter indoor pool; two saunas; an indoor running track; exercise rooms equipped with the latest in Nautilus, Life Fitness, Hammer and weightlifting equipment; cardiovascular machines; and two racquetball courts. Outside, there is a turf football/soccer field, four lighted softball fields, two lighted tennis courts, one lighted basketball court, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a 400-meter running track with a polyurethane running surface. Magrath Sports Complex serves DoD ID card holders."

Mag rat h has a variety of equipment however the equipment is outdated. Some of the machines are welded so you can only lift 35 pounds.
Pretty decent. Obviously not much they can do about this, but wish there were more lanes at the pool. Lanes be filled, I’m just tryna swim while there are people just playin
I like everything about the gym but the hours they used to open at 5 am which gives me time to go work out then go to work now they open at 6 am very late. Also they used to close at 10pm but now they close at 8pm. During the day soldiers are busy doing army things and when they get some time off to enjoy some good work out the gym is close. Nice. I really hope they will change the hours
Gym is nice but way to busy for people who want to workout before work pt hours are way to busy and after work after work hours are busy inconvenient for people who work I wish they extend their hours earlier/later than 6-8
Lots of machines, free weights, benches, treadmills and other aerobic equipment. Literally has everything. Track above the 2 basketball courts, one across the street and even a pool. Locker room is massive as well. What else do you need? Oh, but dont go when its busy, meaning PT hours, Lunch, or after 1600 lol
Have plenty of options but too bad it is always soo packed. Their hours could be better for soldiers.
I actually like the gym layout here than I do Monti. The main free weights area is plenty to get done, and the indoor track is also nice.
Got every machine that you'll need. I did come in on Saturday morning when they opened. So I was able able to bounce around without waiting for the equipment to free up. I will edit my post a week from now, after I do a few visits during the weekday.
Not a fan of this gym. I like to do super sets when I work out with opposing muscle groups example: Bench press then go right into pull ups The pull up bars are on the other side of the gym from the bench press racks and it's so crowded if you walk away from a bench it'll get stolen in 3 seconds. I didnt see turf either like Monti has.
Superb variety of equipment to work all the components , and muscle groups in the body. Sauna and pool makes for a great way to relax after a workout. Hours don't allow for going swimming after work hours, but you can work around it if you really wanted to do it........
