As someone who wishes to one day work in cinema I can say that the Main Street Cinema is one of if not my favorite place on Main Street. It feels inspiring walking through and seeing the old short cartoons that would one day lead to the Disney brand and parks of today. I definitely recommend stopping by even if it is for a few minutes just to view what once was.
Though it's nothing majorly fun, the cinema was a nice place to relax after a long day at Disneyland. There are various screens playing Mickey Mouse cartoons, and one of the screens had sound. There were benches and an area in the middle to sit down.
What a great way to see a movie while enjoying a nice drink. The seats are comfortable and we had a delicious dinner all while watching a movie. The servers were polite and courteous throughout. They responded quickly when you pushed the service button. All around WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I'll definitely be going again and I've already recommended it to my friends. Thank you!
Perfect place to get away from the crowds. It is very small in there with 6 different black & white films being shown in a circular room. However, it's cool and dark in there so it's nice when it's 90 degrees with a 85% humidity in the middle of July. Stop on in!
Very nice Cinema where you can watch 6 old classic cartoons. There is no seating inside, only standing room with a higher level in the middle. All the movies play at once continuously, so you just have to face which ever screen you want to watch. Most of the time it can be pretty empty.
Main Street Cinema is one of those attractions you usually walk by and don't give a second glance until you get an annual pass and you actually take time to enjoy all the little things Disneyland has to offer. Take 30 minutes to view each cartoon and appreciate what Walt Disney brought to the world of animation. Each film is full of character and charm and will transport you back to a different time, before dragon ballz and talking trucks. It is also a fantastic respite from the crowds on Main Street. AND it's AIR CONDITIONED! A fair warning though, there's no place to sit in there so you'll want to get there before your feet and knees are aching.
Nice place to watch classic Mickey Mouse cartoons. We were there in February and stayed inside because it was cold and were waiting for the fireworks at 930. It was interesting how much Mickey Mouse changed since the old days.
Used to be Disneyland's Main Street had shops each individual from each other. and main Street Cinema was a nice little place to duck out of the crowds and catch some classic Mickey cartoons. In comes the dismantling of Walt's park as it's transformed into yet ANOTHER shop... a real bummer and loss of value for Disneyland
The Main Street Cinema has been playing Steamboat Willie non-stop since 1955! If it ever leaves Disneyland, I leave Disneyland!!! There's just something so special about the privacy of it. There's no other place like it in the park. Being there is like going back in time to the unchanged and pure Disneyland. Hopefully the Disney Corporation sees it this way. Let's keep Main Street what it was born to be! We don't need another shopping mall shoving plush toys up our... !!!!
Love the cinema. used to spend hours in here. Sparse and no real seating, but the classics play on in perpituity. One of the best places in park. Wish they added more b/w classics... Some Oswald would be great!
