Just moved to New Orleans last month and needed to find a salon / stylist who could help my curly curls look their best. Allie did an AMAZING JOB!!! and I LOVE my new hair cut and color! It's easy to take care of, and the curls just fall into place. I've already gotten a few complements on my fun hair. Very nice salon, and everyone is so sweet and friendly!
I surprised my wife with an appointment st Maison De Cheveux. IFrom top to bottom, this was an awesome experience...for me and my wife. From the owner right down to the newest hire, we were treated like we were part of the family. I never thought things were rushed and they listened to every request my wife had. Expensive? Maybe...but just how much is the happiness of your spouse worth? Knowing that my wife had been struggling to find a decent stylists in our tiny town, I had no problems or second thoughts on getting her a booking. So mu h in fact, she has booked her next appointment...and I get to go visit my spirit city! Win-win!
I came from out of state and decided last minute to get a cut and color correction. Nicole the owner was absolutely amazing she was able to fit me with jimmy. Jimmy colored my hair and i am in love with it! Nicole did my cut which I love as well!!
Where do I even begin? I strongly advise seeking service ELSEWHERE. This salon is completely unprofessional and irresponsible. I came into this salon with heavily damaged hair, desperately seeking professional guidance. Instead, my hair was fried off. Despite being courteous, patient, and reasonable, they are brushing me off and refusing to attempt to resolve the matter with me, simply offering free product. I have now requested a full refund and have heard no response. These photos speak for themselves, but here is the full story. I am from out of town and decided to treat myself and get my hair fixed up, as I had been doing it myself for months. I was about fifteen minutes late for my apt due to unfamiliarity with the heavy traffic flow and difficulty finding the salon. I called them ahead of time and was more than happy to wait for the 15 minutes it took for the stylist Jac to finish another client. When we finally sat down together, I fully explained my history of bleaching my platinum hair myself, and tried to express that I was placing myself at the mercy of her expertise. I said that I wasn’t sure if I needed overall correction, just a root touch up, or what. She takes a look at my hair and says she’ll fix me up. Great! She is the professional. This is exactly why I’m here. She begins by applying bleach to my roots, and at this point I still don’t know exactly what the plan is. I ask “are we doing the whole thing?” And she goes “Oh yeah!” Wonderful! Again, this is why I am here. She knows what she is doing. She finishes my roots and sticks me under a heat lamp, then applies a lightening treatment to the rest of my hair followed by more time under the lamp. When my hair is washed out I can tell that it’s fragile and I mention this to Jac. She responds “yep, we still need to do the keratin treatment and it’ll be a lot better!” Still entirely confident in the years of experience that this stylist has accrued, I push my misgivings aside. So she does the keratin treatment and toner and says that she’ll have another stylist give me a blow out. I wasn’t terribly certain of the wisdom of brushing and blow drying my hair at this point, and I mention that I have a more natural wave. So she sticks me under the power dryerI was charged $27 for this I shouldn’t have, but I paid and left. Throughout the day I pulled out more and more of my hair. I called first thing the next day a Sunday and Brittany was nice enough to answer despite technically being closed. She was very sympathetic and assured me that they would work with me to get my money back. She offered to have me come in to look at it and send me off with free product, but this was the last day of my vacation and I had to leave by noon. I explained this to her and she was quite understanding, promising that I would hear back from her boss the next day. I receive a voicemail from the salon the next day trying to make an apt for someone else. I call back and explain and also ask to speak to a manager. The woman on the phone, Beth, says she is one and so I begin to explain. She cuts me off saying “I spoke to Jac and Nicolle and they said your hair was already pretty damaged when you came in” at this point I can see where this is going. She continues and says that this is what I said I wanted and at this point it’s between the stylist and the owner and there is nothing she can do for me. I would hear back the next day Tuesday. I didn’t. Shocker. So I emailed them, again, politely explaining the situation. I received an email back from Beth advising me that I may use Olaplex “every day if it’s that bad” and saying they could send me more if I’d like. That was it. I sent another, extended email back expressing that I had hoped to speak directly with someone who could help me resolve this, and that the only resolution I am now comfortable with is a full refund. I doubt I will see a dime of my money back, nor hear back from the salon again. Go somewhere else.
While visiting New Orleans last month I realized I badly needed a blowout to tame my humidity induced frizzy locks. Clint at Maison De Cheveux came to the rescue! He was friendly, easy to talk to and professional. The shampoo and blowout were top notch and my hair looked great, even on day three! The helpful receptionist assisted with directions via streetcar from my hotel in the Garden District and went out of her way to actually meet me on the street when I somehow missed my stop! If I lived locally, I would absolutely return time and again for all services. When I return, I plan to make Maison De Cheveux my first stop! NOTE: They do charge extra to use hot tools, so the price is upwards of $70. Worth every penny!
I’ve traveled all around the world and honestly I’ve never had such a great service and hair cut. After a not very nice experience in another salon I came to Maison de Cheveux to have it fix and they just did the most amazing job. Thank you sooo much! Best salon in New Orleans without a doubt!
I had loc maintenance with Symphony yesterday and everything was just so lovely. The salon is gorgeous, the staff is super fun and friendly. Great funky vibe in the heart of downtown! Symphony did an excellent consult, listened to my worries, and delivered the best most relaxing retwist of my life. I'll for sure be back every month
This is def the best salon in New Orleans. I moved here from NYC a decade ago, tried a few other salons and Maison de Cheveux is hands down the best. All the stylists are very skilled trust me I’ve seen most of them in the 5 plus years I’ve been coming here! and they are dedicated to making you look and feel your best. They are accommodating, hard working, down to earth, and fun. They did my wedding a few years ago and it was a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend these guys enough!
