We know that men are part of the cure for sexual violence. Our manicures are a symbol of our commitment to this cause. #menarethecure

One in 4 women will be a victim of a sexual crime such as rape, incest, and molestation before she even reaches the age of 18, striking 1 in 5 men before the age of 18. Tragically, most victims suffer in silence because of stigma and shame.
One blue fingernail – that’s where we start. Men hold the power to put an end to sexual violence, and we envision a viral campaign of men sharing on social media one blue painted fingernail to symbolize their willingness to stand out and stand up against sexual violence. We need not just the fathers, brothers, sons and friends in our local communities, but men who are highly visible and motivational on a big scale – professional athletes, musicians, artists and celebrities who can truly launch a movement.
The MAN-I- CURE Campaign will start a dialogue about sexual violence, who it affects, and how it can be stopped. Much like the “ice bucket challenge,” men and women will challenge each other to “Paint it Blue” to raise awareness and be asked to make a corresponding small donation to the campaign. Launching in April in coordination with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, this campaign has the potential to not just change the conversation surrounding sexual violence, but make a distinct impact to prevent future crimes.
