Paul R. Spitzfaden / Mandeville Community Center
The 6,000 sq. ft. facility was the site of the former U.S. Post Office for the City of Mandeville. Mandeville's unprecedented growth caused the U.S. Post office to consider a larger structure in the early 1990s. Once the new U.S. Post Office building was ready for occupancy in late 1995, plans were begun for the renovation of the previously existing site. Former Mayor Paul Spitzfaden was instrumental in the Community Center concept. The result was the creation of the Community Center, located across the street from Mandeville City Hall.
The mission of the community center is to provide programs that meet the needs of the community we serve, enhance the quality of life, and promote community involvement by providing recreational and cultural activities, health and wellness education, and fitness activities in facilities that are well maintained, accessible, and safe.
