It didn’t look amazing inside but the food was great, friendly service and BIG portions! I will be returning!Food: 5/5
Super clean. I only got hush puppies. They were okay. I thought they were a little pricey for hush puppies. Everyone who came in was raving about the catfish. I will have to try that next time. I was super impressed with James. I overheard someone asking if they could have a party in the dining room. Not only was he super friendly he offered to put the cake in the freezer when they were ready!!! What great customer service!!
About 5 variety of fish fillets to choose from.shrimp fries.decent pricing. Could be 5 stars if the hush puppies were larger and lighterRecommended dishes
It’s just not great. It’s frozen box food that you get in the grocery store. Mine was over cooked. I have a large family so I ordered 5 phillys, 3 kids meal, calamari and mozzarella sticks. Oisin $89.00. Everything was over cooked and burnt. The phillys were black on pieces and the meat was crunchy. So gross to have crunch in a sandwich that shouldn’t crunch. The calamari was fried to a crisp and the mozzarella sticks were fried so hard, busted open and of the cheese melted out. I know it’s fast food but this was a complete waste of $89 because the food was not edible with the exception of the kids meals. The kids meals give generous helpings for $5.99. Kid-friendliness: Generous helpings in the kids meals for $5.99. Parking: About 10 spots facing the restaurant, but there is plenty parking within the plaza.
This was first time i have gotten food from Mandy's reminded me of back home southern style fried fish. Great birthday dinner. Ordered by phone 2 39.99 specials 1 catfish 1cod and husband picked up on way home from work very convenient it was ready in 15 minutes. Great portions kids loved it to. I will be ordering here again soon.
Verdict: Good, but not great. Okay, here we go: I stopped by while visiting the area for work and it was mixed results. On the upside, the prices were great; very fair for this type of food. The portion size was good as well. The digital signage and menu was a plus and even the drink was fairly priced. In the middle was the quality of the fish. It wasn't bad, mind you. Is was much better than a chain fast food stop that happens to serve some fish. But, it wasn't near the tender deliciousness that can be found at other places around the state who specialize in fried fish. Even the tartar sauce was just okay. Not bad, just not exceptional. On the bad side though is the facility. If you're going to stay and eat, beware. The table was lopsided, every condiment bottle was so sticky it felt like it had never been deep cleaned, if you look up there's strobing LED lights that are just way too intense, if you look down...just don't look down - the floors haven't been truly scrubbed and polished in a minute. And finally, as a pet peeve, instead of tinting the windows or putting in shades, they chose to cover them completely with curtains, so there's no way to see outside except through the tiny front door. Overall, it may totally be worth your while to give them a try. They have a drive through, I believe, so you wouldn't have to eat inside of you don't want. But, you might give this a hard pass too. I guess it really depends on how much you love fried fish. They have other stuff too, but that's just a poor business decision. Stick with a small menu of what you do well and do it great. But for what is worth, I hope they clean up the other stuff and get it right. We need more fish and chips places like this in Arizona, I don't want any of them to fail.
I visited Mandy's for the first time yesterday at around noon and it was empty, though I've been told they are usually busy. The service was nothing to write home about and so I ordered what my dad ordered which was a special with 3 shrimp, 3 pieces of Catfish, fries and hushpuppies. The shrimp turned out to be little more than your grocery store frozen varieties, and lacked any actual shrimp flavor. The cocktail sauce left alot to be desired mainly horseradish and tasted like ketchup and hot sauce. The fries were crinkle cut and were acceptable by fry standards. My biggest issue was with the so called Catfish. Unfortunately it was not Catfish at all but a much cheaper fish called Sway. Mandy's is another in a long of restaurants that have chosen to pass this low quality product to the public and charge you for the best. The FISH tasted like nothing outside of the breading which must be where the Catfish flavor is to be found. Also my fathers shrimp looked like they had been fried for a second time and were too dry to eat. Meanwhile, my shrimp looked fresh. I gladly gave him my shrimp. It was my first and last time going there as I'm convinced that this was all I could expect from this establishment.
Ive only ever tried Mandys as delivery so i cant say much about the service or atmosphere, but i can confidently gas them up for the food. Ive tried a few things from their menu and theyre all good. I really love their hushpuppies but my fave is their catfish plate. Their philly cheesesteak is also really good. Only comment id like to add is that their fries and shrimp could use a bit more time in the fryer. They are a bit soft and pale for my taste, but the catfish is always on point so i cant complain too much.
I have been going here for the last five years and they never disappoint. Probably one of the best fish and chips place here, and it’s always nice to support local businesses too! Affordable- their family meal is our usual. I always get their catfish.
This is a very good local Fish Fry place. It won't win awards for its ambiance but it SHOULD win for its local flair and the quality of the food on it's simple menu - 3 or 4 different types of fish, shrimp, clams, hushpuppies, slaw, fries, onion rings, etc. Served hot, it is predictably tasty and fulfilling. Mandy's is a stable Go-To stop if you're jonesin' for fried seafood.
