Every winter 60+ talented string, wind & brass students from across the country receive full-scholarships to come to NYC for 10 days, rehearse with conductor Jaime Laredo, study with renowned chamber musicians and perform at Carnegie Hall
Under the leadership of conductor Jaime Laredo, the New York String Orchestra Seminar offers pre-professional training to advanced string, wind, brass, and timpani students ages 16-23. The Seminar takes places December 19 - 28 each year. All 62 accepted students receive full scholarship to participate, valued at $3750.
