So grateful + thankful to the wonderful staff at Manor Care in Venice. My 98 year old Mom arrived there July 7th in terrible condition. She was in pain from a bent back, had leg wounds + was basically bed ridden. The physical therapy department worked tirelessly to get her up. Special thanks to Leo, Jerry ,Christine + Jerry Lynn. The nurses there were also a big part of Mom's recovery. They are all friendly +so caring. Special thanks to Rachel + Beverly. My Mom went to memory care today + she is pain free+ able to walk with a walker. All the effort of the staff made this possible for her.Thank you all.
I FELT so welcomed at this facility ! All the employees are amazing and helpful . Your nurse Jenny on the rehabilitation side is beyond phenomenal !!!! This nurse went above and beyond ,and did patient care so the patient didn’t have to wait for the cna . Beverly who works on the rehabilitation side was also phenomenal … jumped in and helped when it was needed !! Jen from therapy was another person that STOOD out to me ! She genuinely cares about the pts and helps them with their daily goals ! Marissa in activities is phenomenal as well , very active with the residents and does great activities to keep the patients busy. I would recommend this facility . Great caring staff !
Hours and pay were great. I loved the actual job, but immediate management who you work with or around daily, was cringing. The ADON Michelle is a bully and completely unapproachable. A lot of favoritism. The newly assigned "unit manager" Beverly is a completely unprofessional trouble maker and very inappropriate with past personal and criminal history stories to many of the nursing staff. Most of the CNAs were wonderful, and the very few careless ones, I wouldn't work with. Janet, Sylvia, Suzelle are angels to that place. Physical therapy was very beneficial for the patients and they were all pleasant and caring people. Dietary gets many complaints and often they get diet orders wrong. You have to be very aware of your patients and MD orders. Unclear communication of policies. Tom the DON is an awesome boss but he doesn't see how things are on the floor. He is really trying to turn the place around. I can honestly say I was one of the most hard working and caring nurses they had but I didn't feel valued. Dealing with the drama of management constantly talking about me, and not to me, the lack of respect, and power trips, I decided to quit. It wasn't worth my happiness. Hostile work environment. Be the good nurse to make a difference in that place!
I am an angency employee so I travel from place to place and let me tell you, this place is AWESOME! Clean, friendly, cheery, great nurses and CNA. Tom is so on top of education, never leaving us in the blind. Tim, Sheri and Channel are wonderful nurses, very hands on! Virginia the housekeeper is so detailed oriented so the place is SUPER clean. I truly enjoy coming to work here!! I would recommend this place to anyone that needs medical care!
We had to repeatedly ask that our mother be bathed. We were told her bath days were 2 days a week, which she never received unless we asked and followed up. My father was given little to no information about the care she was receiving in the two weeks she was there. Our mother contracted Covid while there and they failed to tell my father there was the beginning of a small outbreak in the facility until 10 people were already marked as sick. She was moved into a covid ward, no updates were given & he was refused entry to see her. meals were atrocious, "mystery meat" every day. You can tell the food they serve meets bare minimum requirements. I would not choose this facility again for family future care.
Awesome!.   I was transported from the hospital and turned up my nose when the nurse recommended ManorCare.  I was brought in on Friday night, depressed as I thought I would have nothing until Monday.  I could barely make it from the wheelchair to the bed.  I was shocked to have a full schedule of evaluations Saturday and my first PT session Easter Sunday!  Still on Covid quarantine all therapy had to be in my room, but the therapists were creative, very encouraging, and really pushed me.  It is an older facility but the rooms are huge and functional.  If you are looking for the 'Ritz' this is not the place for you.  If you want rapid recovery with a fun and friendly nursing staff and incredible therapy ManorCare is A+++.
My family has had a very bad experience with this facility. My grandmother is missing her bottom dentures & they did not inform us. She fell trying to use the restroom & got an abrasion on her leg. When I visited a week later, the bandage had not been changed & had a very bad odor. The wound needed attention & I was told there wasn’t anyone available. I waited over an hour to see a nurse to discuss my grandmother’s condition & was told there was no one available. After much persistence I was able to see someone who took notes & did not get back with me. My grandmother is 96 years old & is dirty & I feel being neglected. I live in Kansas & was only there for a short visit. I have friends who have had similar experiences with this facility & was told to get my grandmother out of there ASAP, which we are trying to do. Hopefully she can make it until next week which is when she is supposed to be released to her assisted living residence. And on another note, she was exposed to covid 3 weeks ago although she has been vaccinated & could not have a visitor. Not sure how she got exposed at a rehab facility.
Current patient with hip replacement. It's a looney bin with good pt and decent food. No communication. Need to go home. It's Friday after Thanksgiving. Skeletal staff. Social services is GONE and no one knew. Dressing was left unattended and open for more than 24 hours despite repeated requests. Staff are good but at their limit. Don't come here for something like this. Just go home even if you live alone.
This past July,, I had the unhappy task of sending my husband to rehab after the last of several hospital stays. I had gone around the Venice area and checked into various facilities, Manor Care being one that had been referred to me by a friend. After already having had a horrendous experience at another facility earlier in the year I was extremely leery. I am happy to announce that the Manor Care staff have been extraordinary! With the added burden of no physical contact, they have gone above and beyond to relay messages, deliver goodies and give updates whenever asked. They are seasoned pros with hearts of Angels.. and I appreciate them all. I give this facility 5 stars!
manor care venice did a great job caring for my family member. the staff was very attentive and kind.
