Marcum's Martial Arts Academy teaches Isshinryu Karate, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Internal Martial Arts, Self Defense, and Okinawan Kobudo. Our Chief Instructor is Hanshi Bill Marcum, who holds a 9th dan. Head Instructor Kyoshi Roxanne Marcum holds a 7th dan. The Marcums conduct classes in a very traditional manner. They maintain personal commitment to each and every student individually, thus creating our Martial Arts Family.
In addition to class instruction, the students are given many opportunities to participate in Karate tournaments. Our students have been successfully competing in tournaments from local and regional to national and international levels. During the tournament seasons, special classes are taught to specifically hone those skills most used in competition.
As students, we can never forget that true martial arts aim for quality. Quality demands time and practice as well as desire. Everybody appreciates quality, but not everyone has the perseverance to attain it. We have developed a high standard. Our students have demonstrated quality and perseverance to reach this standard. This is what sets us apart from many other Dojos.
