Mary Ann’s vision has always been to present a day of arts and entertainment to celebrate the arts in its many forms including music, artisans of all types and their wares, wine, beer and distiller tastings, gourmet food, farmers, authors, body workers, and theater groups. In its ninth year, the event is still young and its coordinators continue to learn and grow from year to year. All vendors who participate are included by invitation only, which helps maintain the quality of the offerings. With few exceptions, vendors at the Arts Fest make the work they sell – many of them have won awards for their work, have their work in shops and galleries (some even have their own galleries), have an online presence of one kind or another, have had their work recognized in periodicals, and many make a living with their work. The north country used to abound with shows like this, until it didn't. We would like to be the instigator of more shows featuring quality work of the type featured at Mare's Wares Arts Fest. Help us support the arts by attending and supporting the artisans. The admission is Free!
As Mare’s Wares Arts Fest has grown over the past several years, it has become a well-known artistic, cultural, and educational institution. It appeals to an audience of all ages from both sides of the border. As the event is ALWAYS noon to 8 PM on July 1 - Canada Day – its coordinators feel as though they serve as good will ambassadors. The day-long event incorporates live music, children's activities, and educational demonstrations as well as a variety of high quality work from well-known and well-respected artisans from the North Country and beyond – and it’s FREE!
