About

A very unique, fun, kitchy, bar on the beach with awesome sunsets and lots of fun! One of Rochester's best known "secrets" since 1960!

Description

Spring is here. (despite Mother Nature messing with us) Memorial Day weekend is the "kick off" of the season (although we are OPEN ALL YEAR, just limited hours). Tiki bar is open....beach is beautiful...drinks are cold, a perfect little getaway.

This is an awesome summer time bar. They have live music most nights. They do not serve food here, but they allow you to bring in your own food, or even have food delivered while you're there. Just a really great vibe. Make sure you stay for the sunsets! Parking: There are only 4 spots in front of the establishment, I parked over at Bill Gray's and it seemed others were parking there, as well...but not sure it's technically allowed.
I give this little place a 4/5 because it's size; small bathrooms and the need of more servers for the back area. Get ready to pay a cover change. It used to be free entrance but as it became more popular during summer time and the amazing sunsets a cover change was established. Live music at the back some times good and another times not.
Rochesters oldest bar isn't by accident... This place is OG taven. 45 records on the jukebox and beach front. Best sunsets on the east coast!Food: 5/5
This place is a MUST if you're in Rochester, nothing says summer like a cold drink in your hands and feet in the sand. If you're reading this review, then you already know that's where you should be!.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Service: 5/5
Went for a drink, live music and beautiful sunset. Didn't disappoint see pic. Lovely spot on shores of Lake Ontario.Service: 4/5
What a cute establishment this is!! I can't believe I've never been here before now. It's small but so charming with their beach theme, frozen drinks & nice fire set up in front. In the back they have an awesome beach front. 1 of our favorite things was all the pictures of their family all over the walls We love it & will definitely be coming back again!!
Great place for live music. Tables right out on the beach.Service: 5/5
The smallest bar around. It's a beach bar but you CAN NOT get in from the beach.. We docked our kayaks there for drinks but were rudely stopped and told we could NOT enter through the back. The trip around to the front entrance would have taken 30 - 40 minutes. We decided never to come back and returned home. We just wanted water. Parking: Parking at Bill Gray's. Bar has no parking
I was very disappointed to arrive at Marge's and was told they only allow people who have reservations. And that they were completely booked for the entire day Sunday, soon after they opened This isn't even a food establishment. I probably won't be going back. in response to Marge's: The hostess did not convey to us that this was a special event, so we were turned away and left with the impression that this is standard procedure at your establishment. Not everyone checks Facebook before stopping for a casual drink. A sign out front might have been useful.
Well none of us have been in a while I guess but Marges has definitely brought up their game! Met friends there last night and was thrilled to be escorted out and pointed to wonderful new red chairs around barrels to hold drinks! A band playing and a friendly crowd! Love the margaritas in a bag and what could be better than a beautiful evening on the beach, a drink and friends!
