Working to keep you safe 24/7 are the men and women on patrol, the K-9 unit, our SWAT Team, the Bomb Unit, our Field Force Unit and our Forensics and Evidence Divisions.
The Marion County’s Emergency Management program provides a comprehensive and aggressive emergency preparedness response, recovery and mitigation program in order to save lives, protect property and reduce the effects of disasters in Marion County.
MCSO’S Corrections Division focuses on the custody and security of inmates in the Marion County Jail. From medical issues to the daily needs and care of inmates, our goal is to provide them with all the necessities they need while keeping the inmates, our staff and the general public as safe and secure as possible. In 2015, the Marion County jail received unprecedented accolades from the American Correctional Association and the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission Accreditors and received re-accreditation from both entities.
MCSO also offers extensive training to our employees to help them become masters in their fields. Every sworn employee must run our obstacle course once each quarter to make sure they are fit and ready to perform their job to the best of their ability.
