Marion P. Thomas Charter School (MPTCS) is dedicated to serving Newark families. As one of Newark's top innovative academic insitutions, MPTCS continues to differentiate itself by implementing programs such as: single gender classrooms; multi-age, honors programs, performing and culinary arts, band and sports programming. Academic innovation continues to be a crucial piece of our blueprint for success.
In addition to educational initiatives, MPTCS initiates opportunities for our students to interact with community leaders in an effort to meet our communal philosophy, which is captured in the school's motto "It takes a whole village to raise a child".
Our school currently serves more than 1300 students from Pre-K to 12th grade.
