I went for a day/night wanted to try spa and restaurant. It can be difficult to find pulled into two driveways to turnaround until I found it. The entrance has you walk by the garbage area. The receptionist was very welcoming and personable. Rooms are cute/cozy but the shower doesn't make sense in the jacuzzi they advertise as the water mainly lands on the edge. No mini fridge so you can't save anything for later despite having multiple dressers. I got a charming view of the street out front. Spa said they were too busy because they only had one nail technician and seemed to have an attitude had to call twice. Lady that did my nails was friendly and professional. The restaurant is large and no one was there literally one other person. But I didn't get to eat because I waited for over 10 min and after sitting and watching them serve the only other person in the entire restaurant and chit chat among themselves I was never waited on. I left and went back to my room. Charming in concept, execution of customer service was lacking and frustrating.
Signs for Spa and Hotel entrance would be helpful if more clearly set..I love the old fashioned nature of the hotel. Cozy..cute. could use an update if wanting to become modern but i like the historic feel to it. My bed was comfy. The jet tub needed cleaned but I cleaned it and it was very soothing to use. Area is beautiful to drive it. Sad the spa wasn't opened for the weekend tho just memorial day w3ekend, would've been nice to know that ahead of time.and also to have been able to experience the spa..but hopefully if I stay again I can. Overall very cute and cozy stay.
Horrible experience for my wife, mother, and mother-in-law. All three took time off work to have massages as their Mother’s Day gift. Apparently, one of the masseuses was unable to come into work to do her job, however management did not reach out to my family to cancel and rebook. Rather, they waited until they were at the spa and sprung this on them. They thought the acceptable compensation would be a free trip to the steam room accompanied by their cheapest bottle of Prosecco. The alternative accommodations were unacceptable and downright embarrassing coming from a spa of such such-proclaimed excellence. My wife called the next day to voice her disappointment and displeasure and has yet to receive a call from the manager over three weeks later. As further insult to injury, the spa sent over three “free” hand paraffin therapies which are of no use as they did not book their services and are substantially cheaper than their massages. The right move would’ve been to provide them with the three free massages to make up for the ones that were unprofessionally cancelled on them at the last minute. This was a clear, cheap way to buy them off. My wife has had her bachelorette party at the spa along with other events, and will no longer be coming to Mario’s. They should be ashamed by their lack of professionalism and cowardly management. I will make it a point to go out of my way to make sure none of my friends, family members or any acquaintances waste their time at this joke of a spa.
Fantastic updates! Very relaxing experience for spa day, and lunch after. Stunning marble and hardwood throughout. Timeless beauty of a spa! Food & drinks: Fresh Vegan options available, as well as lamb, lobster and other top tier cuisines! Noteworthy details: Spa
Absolutely love this place! We stay for several days every year for the Twinfest. Beautiful rooms! Lovely grounds! Great salon hair perms lasted 9 months and counting, incredible food and the drinks! Yes, please!
Our package came with extra services which they failed to inform us about all that we had so we missed out on some things that were paid for. Spa had openings but front desk said there was none. Missed out on a lot of things. Restaurant server we had seemed extremely confused about some questions simple things. Like when I asked if they had yellow mustard she just said no. Didn't explain that they only had brown. I think they could use some re training. Other then that it was super nice !!
Had a great time in the spa, the first day we had a heat treatment which was one of the following, sauna, steam or whirlpool. Unfortunately the whirlpool was not available at the time of our visit so we opted for the steam room, it was great but you can only take so much heat! The spa treatments the next day were fantastic, they absolutely pamper you!! That's what you pay for and they deliver!!! Rooms: The room was nice for what
Pedicure was the worst I've ever had. 1-changed my time without calling me 2-couldnt pick my own color 3-chair you sit in broke and uncomfortable, didn't massage. 4-rushed through and never properly scrubbed or removed dead skin 5- SOOO DIRTY AND UNSANITARY!! had a gift card and was soo excited for a mother's day pedicure and I've never been more disappointed before....
I went with a friend last Sunday for a pedicure and massage, which were both done by the same woman. This was my experience: 1 The massage was the worst I've ever had. The amount of pressure she used was excessive and caused me A LOT of pain, and I told her up front that my upper back was already hurting. When I asked her to back off on the pressure, she told me she was just "releasing toxins" and not to hold my breath. She continued the painful pressure and I told her numerous times that the pain was too much. She didn't seem to care. The message was only 30 minutes so by the time I was about ready to cry, it was over. I complained to the lady at the front desk and she told me she'd have to "review my paperwork" and talk to the message therapist. Of course I never heard back. She told me any refund would have to come out of the therapist's pocket apparently they're independent contractors?. 2 The woman barely said 2 words to me during my pedicure, but my friend's nail technician talked non-stop to both of us. My lady just seemed annoyed to be working that day. When I had to go back up and change out of my robe to put pants on before the polish my pants wouldn't go up far enough for the pedicure, she told me not to "dilly dally" because she had another client next "waiting." We were totally running on time so I'm not sure why she felt the need to rush me. I wish I had the massage therapist's name so I could tell you to avoid her like the plague. Blond lady with glasses. Rudest person I have dealt with in a long time. 3 The bathroom was NOT clean and neither were the floors. Things seemed dirty and outdated. The whole experience was poor and overpriced for what I got. I shouldn't have tipped my lady at all, but the pedicure itself was ok, and it's the holidays. And I'm a nice person. Looking back, I'm kicking myself for not being more upfront with my experience, but we were in a hurry checking out. I have been there many times in the past but will NOT be going back.
Four days later my upper neck is still painful and my knee is giving out. I had none of this before the massage. I was dizzy right afterwards that lasted for about an hour.Rooms: 2/5
